For some stupid, senseless, thoughtless reason I decided to buy this car as a project over this past winter. When I bought it I knew the chain guides were bad and it needed TLC. I figured instead of spending $7,000 on a clean e38 that would eventually need everything anyway I’d buy one with the issues already existing and start from scratch. The plan quickly began to backfire but after about 6 months of work and over $10,000 down the drain I ended up with what is one of the cleaner e38s around. 

Everything listed below has less then 500 miles on. I’ve hardly driven the car at all.

*The body restoration was unexpected but after realizing my original plan of swapping the doors out wouldn’t work because the black on the door was Cosmos and the black on my car was Swartz I decided to find someone who could REALLY do the job (finding a good body shop that will work with you is near impossible in Boston). Robby spent over a month with the car. He completely stripped it down (even the AC fan to avoid any potential overspray). The hood, trunk, doors, plastics, bumper, etc were all painted off the car and then aligned on when being put back on. I chose to bring it to him because he specializes in restoration. After going through the cars body with a comb he wet sanded and buffed it several times. He was actually unhappy with me for not wanting to spend the extra $ on new moldings because it took away from the cleanliness of his work. I won’t mention what it cost me but I will tell you it was extremely reasonable for the amount of time invested and for how much work the body needed.

The one thing I was about to address was the interior but I’ve decided I’m tapping out with this car.

Good:
-The seats are heated sports seats with no tears. 
- The dash has no cracks 
- The door panels are mint. 
- All five rear shades are intact and fully functional
- The cupholder works as do all the buttons. 

Bad:
-    Needs glove box handle
-    Need rear seat cupholder
-    Sport steering wheel has gash
-    Cluster pixels are failing
-    Front driver seat need leather treatment
-    MKII screen has small line and tape deck doesn’t work 

The price of the car includes a new MKII screen if someone cares to fix that one, a COMPLETE grey sport interior with panels and dash (I was thinking about putting this in because it would be cool to have a black on dove but ran out of energy), COMPLETE wood trim with no cracks minus shifter wood, enough black suede to wrap the headliner, pillars, visors, and would trim, original mufflers, and a box full of other misc modules and such (LCM, general module, etc).

Price: $10,500 
This isn't your run of the mill, scenester, crap e38 its a car that was FULLY restored for someone who really wants to have a clean e38 as they are getting harder to find. The mods are reversible if need be.
