Perpetrating brands

In the tuner community, you see different competing brands on cars, i.e. a car will have hks,greddy,tanabe ect and it pulls it off... My question is this, how would my LS430 be looked upon amongst the bippu fateful, if I had fabulous wheels with a junction produce body kit and DAD curtains? Since I will be modding my car this year, I know I really shouldnt care what people think. However the purist side of me says' I should pick one company and build from there. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them.

I say it would look great.  Take the best parts from as many brands as you like, as long as it comes together nice, it doesn't matter. No reason to stick with only one brand, we are not rolling company demo cars.  The reason some stay away from mixing is that the style of certain brands clash with each other, so as long as you are sure that the parts your buying don't clash, then its all good.

I had been wondering the same thing but what I understood as well was that a lot brands have very extensive support for certain platforms or they specialize in certain platforms, while other platforms are completely ignored or barely even carry anything for them. Do what you like as long as we like it too hahahahahaha no seriously this has always been about personal taste and achievment, who cares what others think. The purist in you will keep you in line anyways! ;)

Just looking at the cars in the magazines it is *extremely* rare to see a car that is brand loyal to one company. In fact, when they do its usually the headline for the article. [i]Alot[/i] of them even mix & match their kits, with different brands, custom parts etc. 

So if anyone has a problem with you mixing your brands, then unless they are your sponsor they have no right to criticise (unless it looks mish-mash ;))

I feel the same way, thanks for all the input. This year should be a break-out year for me and my vehicle. Orlando does not seem to have a scene for vip cars just yet and I would like to put my car on the map. I plan on doing some simple but real effective mods.

Exactly....I only stick to a certain brand because of the quality. Other than that, there is nothing wrong with mixing them as long as they go together. Plus do it the way you would like it so you'll be more satisfied with the end result.

I like mixing and matching, that way you get something unique. If it goes well together is what is important.

in all honesty, the cars with everything Junction Produce are pretty boring...I know they are sponsored and will always show up to represent JP but if you have a choice..go with what you like.

some of the stuff I chose to go with
auto couture aero
weds rims
canover air suspension
OEM goodies
custom goodies
etc...

You get 100x brownie points if you choose only one brand.

i had the same question in mind.  i've never been into bodykits until i stepped foot into the VIP scene so i dunno if it would be taboo to mix and match bodykit pieces.  say you have a type A bodykit but like the Junction Produce door caps because type A didn't come with any.  would that be wrong or not as long as it flows well?  then comes the question about wheels, Junction Produce body kit with anything other than JP Scara or Leon Hardiritt?  just a couple of thoughts...

How do you think I feel?  I have to stare at it everyday :p 

anyways, I for one feel that people should just do what they want.  I think mixing and matching will end up giving you your own identity.  

As for wheels matching the kit?  I don't think it HAS TO MATCH.  I think it will look good just as long as the wheel looks good.  Its really up to you.  With my car, I got everything from the JP catalog for my car, and I mean everything.    This car was put together even before this website was started in 03.   My wheel fitment isn't really my choice since they only made them in one offset for the 20".  You will just have to wait on my decision on finally ditching the JP Scara OZs for something more aggressive that will fit over my endless brakes. :dance:

basically if it makes your engine do what you want (since that is the origional question right?) Go for it. Just dont let the flashy colors of all the parts interfere with your apearance.
Like a tomei green strut bar with an HKS purple fuel rail.
Make sure its clean, it all worked together with the management your doing.
I have to go with SAFC2/avcr becuase apexi Doesnt make a Power FC that works right on a stagea when you go manual.

Build your car how you want, if your happy, it doesnt matter if everyone else is

I feel you, mt GTR brakes are killing me for fitting wheels
