#461297Third time's a charm... VIPish previa build.
A little background, since I haven't posted on this forum in forever, I've got some drift cars:
And I've been obsessed with previas for years, but I kept letting people talk me out of the idea of buying a van... Last year my buddy's parents were basically giving theirs away, and I jumped in and picked it up for a winter beater. It was rusty, nothing really worked, and it seemed like it was barely running, so I beat the hell out of it like I typically do with my dirt cheap winter beaters.

Once spring rolled around, another friend's dad decided to part ways with his manual transmission previa. So I found a buyer for the beater previa, and bought a car in pretty much identical condition, but with a manual transmission, or so I thought...
I entrusted a friend and took his word for it that rough idle was just a minor issue and that they'd compensate me if it turned into a big problem, sure enough, one cylinder of the motor had no compression, my friend and his dad turned their back on the whole situation, so the car turned into a paperweight for 6 months.
In the last couple weeks I sold my previous daily:

I'm not sure why I sold it really, I think it was just too good of a deal to pass up, but it gave me an opportunity to buy this:
It's not the cleanest ever, or in perfect shape mechanically, but I wanted a decently running previa with no rust showing, and without a blue interior, which i've learned is near impossible to find in Chicago without spending a fuckton of cash... Anyways, it runs and drives good, it's got some issues like a really bad SAD, broken wiper, broken A/C, came without the middle bench seat, etc. But I still have the 5 speed car for parts. I've already started taking the SAD off the parts car, got all the bolts free, but it ain't budging. Enough boring stuff though.
In the mean time, I ordered some stance coilovers that'll be here next week, and picked up this yesterday:
That's where I stand now, I'm really stuck on what to do for wheels. I'll probably go air eventually, and I think I'm planning to stray away from IRS just due to cost for now, but with the aero I have and coilovers it seems like it'll take 20's to get the fender gap right without the aero just sitting on the ground, or run 19's that poke and have a bit more fender gap, but more tire to fill the gap.
I welcome any input, critism, whatever from the gurus around here, I'm still new to actually doing anything to these cars, but I want to learn. And I'll keep this thread updated as I get stuff done.
