The Other Black President
Current project is a Nissan President conversion. I know OG is working on one and there’s another person building one on the Nico Forums. This build will be the Kouki version.
1996 Infiniti Q45t black on black with 129k miles. Bought it from a small used car lot in Downtown LA. Needs some TLC. Front & rear bumpers are all scratched up & center arm rest needs to be replaced. So far, I have done a Tranny flush, oil change, and alignment. I will be adding a transmission cooler and might need to change the starter too.
Pics from when I picked it up:

Went to Panda Garage in San Diego to pick up a few parts. There is not much left since a lot of people have bought them up already. Most of the left over parts are for the early production model which I believe is called Zenki. I was able to get a trunk, 2 front fenders, and a rear bumper.
I also bought the following from an ebay seller: elady01
kouki front bumper
Kouki trunk trim:
1996 President hood:

Unfortunately, the hood arrived damaged due to insufficient packaging by the seller & handling by the shipper. I contacted the seller and they gave me the option of finding another hood or having it repaired at their cost. I gave them a written estimate from the body shop and they decided to just refund me in full.

didn't realize you had a build thread. car looks fairly minty, as far as g50s go.
if you're going to buy another hood i suggest a kouki model, so you can use the kouki grill. the 96 is chuki (mid term) iirc.
the kouki front bumper is nice! personally, i always preferred the chuki trim since it's smooth vs. the twisted look.
that rear bumper is zenki. i have a chuki if interested. decided to kit mine.

Just started the build thread today, might as well instead of PM'ing you constantly for questions. Appreciate all the help & advice. I ended up keeping the damaged chuki hood since the body shop said it can be repaired easily, and since I pretty much got it for free. Yeah that's a zenki rear, decided to keep it for now, since it's in a better shape than my stock G50 bumper. Any difference between the chuki rear & the G50 rear? Please don't tell me you're going with a sessions kit.

ahhh... misread the date.
the chuki president rear and the kouki q rear have the same appearance, however the fitment is different. the two tone frame around the plate box is zenki styling. i think you should reconsider.
and yes; sessions kit for sure, but it will be years from now. i'm going to wait until the time is right to finish the president and it will be a long build.
also working on getting the ball rolling on the new suspension, so if you can hang tight a second i may be able to have those suspension parts off. als looking for trade + cash on some modded oem parts.

Might as well move the wiring harness since the fenders are out. Just in case the wheel rubs on the harness once the car is lowered. Some of the original zip ties securing the wiring harness broke during removal, so I just replaced them with regular zip ties.

Even though the president fenders bolt on to all the factory mounting holes, there will be a gap since I didn’t get fender risers. I might just fabricate something to close the gap.

Hood latch will need to be extended and lowered to accommodate the longer president hood. I used longer bolts and fabbed brackets to do this.
One drawback is the hood won’t open when I pull on the cable release. Because of the longer hood, the stock rubber hood stopper doesn’t have enough height to pop the hood.
Bought a pair of these on ebay to fix the problem:

Turned out the front president bumper is missing one factory fog light. I’ve been searching for a left hand side fog light on YAJ but haven’t had any luck so far.
So as a temporary solution, I mounted dual Blazer fog lights fitted with chrome rings. Also added a set of Philips 4 Luxeon Rebel LED DRL’s to fill in the gap. Inner fog is wired to the parking light via relay and the outer fog is wired to the factory fog light wiring.
Camera flash makes it look like it’s lit up:

President bumper also came with a parking pole. With my luck, the mast was broken. I was able to get an extra one from panda garage. I just had to replace the green led on the tip. I also relocated the pole to the right hand side. You will need a relay and switch to make this operational. Relay & switch are from ebay. Just do a search for jdm bumper pole.

Front conversion is just about done. I'm still missing the President Hood emblem. Still searching YAJ for a good deal.

Got a very good deal from JIC Magic USA for a used stainless steel muffler that was previously installed in their G50 demo car. Bottom is scraped from riding low but I couldn’t pass up on the price. Here’s a pic originally sent by JIC.

Thanks Chris! Can't wait to see what you're gonna do with your new car!

It helps to be local sometimes since JIC didn't want to ship the muffler. I was surprised of the quality too. Seems very well built. It was not a complete bolt-on though, the muffler shop had to change the flanges.

Still working on getting all the suspension upgrades. I had the front Aimgain coilovers rebuilt by Odi at Feal Suspension. I still have to do the rears.
I have the following so far from Battle Version:
- Front Tensions rods
- Rear Upper Control Arms
- Rear Toe Arms
- Rear Traction Rods
Also bought a used set of JIC Front Upper Control Arms from YAJ. It is for the R32.

Changed the steering wheel air bag from Infiniti to Nissan President:
Changed the Infiniti clock to a Nissan President clock:
Upgraded the Factory Bose stereo to an Alpine W910 with Navi. It’s still running the stock speakers for now, until I have funds for a complete sound system. I mounted the Bluetooth mic where the factory microphone resides.

It's by the mirror switch. I took out the factory mic, and mounted the bluetooth mic inside. I trimmed the plastic inside with a dremel. Here's a stock photo.
