My slammed CL55 w215.

Here's a little teaser for now while I wait for tires to come in. 19' Auto Couture Latives. The rear lips are exposed and poke out past the fenders by 10mm and the fronts sit pretty flush. Im thinking about running 5mm spacers that way it has a little poke like the rear. What do you guys think? My original plan was to sell the set after I got them redone but I decided I might as well rock them for a bit. (If anyone is wondering how does that jack fit under my car, well it doesn't. I have to go an extra step by using the cars jack to jack up the car a little then I use the floor jack haha.)

Pictures are from iPhone.

I do not care what any one says. But when you see a moded CL55 215 it just those timeless lines. Sure the new ones are dope.. but so much love for the 215. When I sold my s55 I had to hold my self back from getting a 215 for the example you have show us thus far

Very clean! Rides like dog shit at that height though, I know from experience

I am having the prototype rear arms sent to me this week for test fit!!!

is the dog shiznat ride due to the air being completely out of the system? or not having enough air? Coilover and a cup kit to fix that! :D

Im guessing thats the reason why but for this car you can't change out the suspension because the hydraulic pump from the abc suspension connects to the steering pump too, or at least thats what someone told me. The thing is, Ive seen a video of a w215 on a airbag system, the guy was switching switches like them low riders haha so I really don't know..

Yeah the ride is pretty bad, most of the time I like driving on the low setting and some days I just feel like riding in comfort so I raise the car. You gotta keep me up dated with the control arms bro. If everything goes good and it works for you, I want a set for myself! haha

If I remember correctly it is a engine driven air pump. Which is a good thing cause if you mod it, you wont need a compressor and tank for the cup kit, you can run it off the compressor its self.

i believe someone makes a delete module and you just cap/delete all the lines to the suspension. i could be wrong though

i think you can get a power steering pump off a non-abc equipped car, if you were going to switch everything out for coilovers. i remember doing research on this when i wanted a w220 s65 :P

What do you guys think about these on my car? http://www.vipstylecars.com/forums/showthread.php?30858-19x9-20-19x10-20-Leon-Hardiritt-Orden

Only thing I dont like about the rims is that they are 19's with a step lip... In my opinion I think they would look small because of the 18' face. I kinda wished they were originally 19's. I might trade with cash on top.

I say do it however I agree with your statement that they would look to small...
I have a cls and was going to pick up a set of these steplipped to 20s but when I went to VR they were already sold.
Settled for some Monoblocks but still regret not having my Benz on Ordens :pat:

Few things:

The car is hydraulic, not pneumatic. It has a tandem hydraulic/power steering pump, and has springs and shocks on all four corners (hydraulic cylinder is on top). The system is designed to prevent body roll, and it works great. It just a very complicated system which can be disastrous when it breaks.

The reason for the poor ride is the springs and shocks are basically not designed for the lower height, and bottom out.

Can it be removed? Yes. What is involved? You have to remove all of the hydraulic equipment, put in a special power steering pump off a Euro W215, change all of the control arms, add sway bars, and remove the system from SDS, the car's diagnostic computer. A lot of work.

i have not seen one of those pumps.. I am wondering if you can take it apart and remove the fins in the pump that pumps the fluid for the system but leave in the ones for the steering. Kinda like a hicas pump mod for 240s that want to delete the hicas. The pump is like a standard one but has a longer snout and you take the back half off and remove fins and cap the hole for the now hose delete.

You technically could just cap off the ABC pump (or have the pressure flow right to the return), but I would prefer removing it, myself.

I heard there's a company that makes coilovers for w215, does anyone know if that's true? One of my boys friend told me the name of the company awhile back but I forgot the name and never had a chance to look it up. The one thing that scares me the most about driving this car is if the abc system fails.... I just hope there's another solution to fixing it like replacing it with coilovers.

There is a company that makes a "coil over" shock and spring setup. It makes the car drive like an airplane because our cars don't have sway bars, but Benz Works is developing a true coilover kit for our cars.

Thats good to know, makes me kind of relieved now. If my abc ever goes out(knock on wood), Ill have another route to go. So now that you have your custom rear control arms on, any updates? Hows the ride and can you hook me up with a set? haha. I hate the way my rear looks, it needs to be an inch lower... Heres a picture I snapped real quick the other day with my Iphone. Wanted to do a photo shoot with a better camera but never got around to that.

Honestly if your pump went just toss a new one in it. The cost of swapping out everything for something (that'll give no where near the same ride) else isn't worth it.
