Bolt on fender flares?

Saw this on another forum and just wanted to know if there are any other examples of VIP or VIP styled cars running ZG or other bolt on fenders?

I know the IS300 guys run bolt ons sometime (Wald offers some)

Just wondering if this look works or not.. I guess if you're serious and have the money 9/10 people go the body shop flare route instead, correct?

i don't think it will work on anything post mid-90s. i kinda dig it on the ucf10 though. with the right theme i think it would work.

I liked the look on Solo's car (which I think must be that IS). Tricky to pull off, but it can work. Rough style though, no point in trying to be too classy about it.

I just think it's a shortcut to not take it to the body shop the make it a widebody or camber. But then again that LS looks pretty good with fender flares

i think it'd be ok on an older car. personally i don't like exposed rivets i would have it molded. but exposed rivets would be dope on a boso styled build.

how universal are the ZG flares?
I guess what i'm trying to ask is, what size wheel wells are these made for?
do they require cutting of the fender or flare to fit?

Well if you have aggressive wheels that need more fender room you'd need to mark a line to the oem fender where the bolt-on goes and cut most of the sheet metal off prior to bolting the flare on. Also with rear fenders you'd need to re-attach the wheel well sheet to the outer fender.

Some of the ones I've seen look like 19"ers would be the max size you could run, most 18"ers though... But they are just fpr/urethane, so modifying them to your precise need is easy and in most cases required =)
