1sicwitit Toyota Century - soon to be VIP'd
Hello gents,
I just moved to Vegas from Tokyo. Instead of being like most of the other posers out there all wanting to bring back a Skyline or what ever, I decided to bring back a 1981 Toyota Century. I'm not sure what I'm going to do first, Most likely the first mod will be changing out the suspension. Since bringing the car to the states I've actually blown one of the factory air bags up front, so fixing it is a priority. I'm not sure what wheels I want to go with (era specific or some 19" Weds) but that can come after fixing the suspension. Well, here's a couple pixs from when I first got her, and I've been wanting to find a really cool spot here to take some photo's of it and will post them as soon as I do. Hopefully this build goes smoothly and can contribute some good content. These cars are legal to import without much trouble so I'd expect to see more of them around but I've only really seen 2 here in the states from other forums.
Cheers, Jon

Thanks bro, I'm not to sure how fast or slow this build is going to go. I currently have a 4 other builds going on, (STi Impreza, IS300 time attack car, and my wife's 71 Honda CB ''cafe" and her S13 track car) so yeah....If I can find someone to actually build my suspension I'll be totally motivated, but the couple shops I've taken it too so far haven't really been able to help out. I'm thinking I'll have to drive it to some custom shop out there in Cali, drop it off and fly back when its all done.

Don't think so, Its been sitting in my garage for the last few months with the exception of one show here in Vegas...and to work a couple times. I'm very interested in getting it out and about though.

Been a little bit since I've posted here, been ubar busy with 2 STI builds, my wife's S13 track car build, and other various projects. I've started collecting parts needed to convert the suspension over to air bags at all 4 corners. So far I have a tank, compressor, and eight 3/8'' valves. Any help on finding someone to build the air struts in Las Vegas/Los Angeles would be a big help. I'm also looking into what wheels I'll be going with. I still have plenty of hook ups over in Japan so getting some true VIP wheels won't be a problem, its just selecting which wheel to go with. Any suggestions guys?

I was thinking of doing the same thing when i return stateside. If u dont mind my asking how hard was the process and what kind of pricetag can one expect. Nice car by the way, cant wsit to see how this turns out.

what type of struts do these cars run? mcpherson up front? traditional out back? it may be as simple as using an aero-sport bag from Universal Air Suspension over the stock struts depending on clearances, though i know you mentioned the car comes with OEM bags. take a pic of the suspension and we can further assess.
