So BLING it hurt my eyes... Garsons Mercedes Benz SL

My pics from Japan have been long over due since I've had almost zero time to upload and resize them all since I've been back.

During my visit to Osaka prefecture, I had a chance to visit the general manager of Catus Corp (Garson, D.A.D etc) Hiroshi Iijima and also Hideyuki Kishida.

Like all Japanese businesses, the people are more than accommodating and take the extra step to make customers happy.

They were nice enough to pull out their Mercedes showcar to let me snap some photos of it.

It's not really my cup of tea, but the workmanship and quality put into this thing is phenomenal! 8 employees and 3 months to hand lay all the Swarovski crystals. Price tag of crystals alone were $300,000+ USD.

Notice how the different color crystals actually "fade" out from the fender vents!?

And yea, this thing has air ride obviously...

Garson did not make a showing at Tokyo Salon 07. From what I gathered from speaking to them, there is some bad relations between their company and the show.

They will however be at Automesse Osaka 07 *Feb 10-12th. Too bad I can't go back and check out this Osaka show :(

Since most VIPstyle companies are based outside of Tokyo area, usually country side, or Osaka, etc, Automesse will showcase majority of VIP style vendors!

Anyways here are the pics...

VERY Bling... waaaay too bling....

Enjoy!

it's not about the fact that they think it looks good or care if anybody thinks it looks good, more like...in terms of what they can do to cater to even the most bling'd out customers.

I love that car. I mean, not cuz it looks good, but because it's such a show stopper. I never noticed the different kinds of crystals.\

The interior is great, to much crystal for everyday but the plush seating is killer for that car, and I love the Mink&Crystal pendant - I hope to be able to afford one before they cease to exist.

MAN!, I love that car...not in the sense that I would wanna drive one or own one. But just purely out of love for the craftsmanship, and the great amount of detail. I hope the owner appreciates that car. it'd be a shame for that amazing work to go unoticed.

Doesn't look the same... Maybe because it doesn't fit right on that SC?

The garson ones mount a little bit more inconspicuously.. no ghetto 'bra straps' showing

Saw it at 2006 SEMA... it was absolutely jaw-dropping. As over the top as it was, it was still an impressive car that you couldn't stop looking at.

I'm sure the quality of workmanship is second to none and a lot of time was put into it but that has to be the gayest looking car i've ever seen in my life. It does look like something Liberace would drive. That's just MO so nobody take it to the head.

Why show the car with the hard top on? It might have something to do with the crystals getting damaged when the hard top retracts.

They had the car on display in the Razo booth and it was a show stopper. It definatly got the press interested.

easy cop out. I love the car as is, but if you're going big... do it 110%, not 90% because it's easier.

It's not like you'd ever, ever drive that car with the top up if you drive it at all.

Saying they copped out by not doing the top is like saying they only did 90% because they didn't do the backside of the wheels.

ehh, I can understand not the back of the wheels, the inside of the trunk or possibly even anything in the engine bay (although I'd hope for some crystal engine cover accents or something). but the top is part of the exterior of the car... if you're going to spend $300k in crystals alone, why not cover another few sq. feet of roof and figure out a way they don't get damaged when closing the cover...
