Y33 USDM headlights black housing question?? A DYI or bought?

Hello, people. my second post... thought i ask something. Attached you will see a y33 with a USDM headlight housing but black like the JDM or kouki Y33 ones? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but wondering if anybody can shed some light on these headlights - or anyone knows who might do them like that in the SoCal area if they didn't actually come like that or how to do them the right way and stuff, any guide, direction will be much appreciated... Newbie question, I suppose. Prepared for the grilling (if there would be such an event)... Heheh :-)

That's DirtyATL's car. Those are us 97-98 headlights, I believe he opened them up to remove the reflector and paint the housing black. I'm sure he can give you some more details.

yes bob_sagat is correct those are 97 headlights...i indeed cracked them open and painted the housing and replaced the reflector, very easy to do

Thanks for the link ritzy33, thank you bob and thank you dirty for the info. Appreciate it. I like the USDM headlight better, therefore I'm just going to black them out. But changing the reflector? Now how did you do that? And where did you get it from?  Thanks again

I may be selling my extra set of black housings....just have to wait and see what parts I use and what I don't but either way it is easy to take them out and paint them.  G/L
