My Daily Driver - Twin Turbo 2JZ-GTE JZS161 JDM 2002 Vertex Aristo

Since my other Aristo thread was about the 1999 Aristo.  
Figured I will make a new thread for my personal daily driver.  :shrug:

Plans are to keep it simple.
It's a daily driver so I want it to be comfortable and I don't want to spend a lot of money on it.
All of my spare funds are going towards my JDM Supra.

Probably just put on some decent wheels and coilovers.
Other small stuff that I want:
- Curtains
- JP LED Tails
- 3 piece wing

Oh yeah!  Almost forgot.
I might get new headlights too.
Or have them cleaned, I suck at DIY stuff like this.
Also probably gonna go with HID bulbs in the future.

we don't get them regularly. we have a 15 year import rule, and even then its not the easiest process. younger vehicles are even rarer.

Well unlike Oceania/Europe/Canada it's almost impossible to get JDM cars registered in most states. If I remember right it's because of Japanese regulations(JIS etc) aren't approved by the DOT, so you'd basically need to change a lot of the cars parts to USDM ones... and typically it has just beeneasier to swap JDM parts to a USDM car:shrug:

I agree with ^^ however, It's 25 year rule, not 15- Canada has got a 15 year rule. We can only import cars which are over 25 years.... That sucks doesn't it!? While every other country can import any damn car they want from any part of the world, we are stuck with stupid rules and regulations.

The biggest reason is what's under the hood.  :)
But Juzzo is right, the vertex has extra features like leather and darkwood.
But not all vertex aristo's have leather.

Mine is 99% fully loaded, hard to find one like mine.
Only thing mine is missing is the Sunroof.  :(

And yeah I am well aware of the "25 year rule". But there are many ways to make these legal.
The 25 year thing mostly is for commercial mass importation not individual use, hard to explain without making a novel.
But there is plenty of information on the web, most of it is... well just mis-interpreted.

But anyways, I use dealer tags because I have multiple JDM cars, not because it's impossible, not because I'm being shady.
For me it's just 100% more cost effective, decide which car i want to drive and put the tag on and go. 
Better than paying $1000+ to register each car, then insurance for 3 JDM cars will make me broke real fast!!!

Are you really still lying to people? Or maybe just lying to yourself? 

There IS NO WAY to make that car federally legal with out a letter of conformity from Toyota. Last time I checked you do not import these cars yourself. Also, If they are legal, I would love to see the Customs release for them. I'm sure you would be ok with posting it here right? Because if the car was imported LEGALLY you will have a customs release for it and you won't have a customs relase for it unless you have a letter of conformity (which I know for a fact you do not have). Sure you can get a title for the car, THAT DOESN'T MAKE IT LEGAL. It was still smuggled into the county, and that is a federal offence. 

Cars that are imported illegally (like this one) are looked at just the same as smuggling drugs into the country by I.C.E.

Ok, so you have personally legally imported an Aristo to the US? Just because someone said the car was legal doesn't make it legal. Please if you don't know what you are talking about just keep to yourself.

Very informative reply! I'm sure you have thoroughly convinced your potential customers they are legal with that response.

Oh, and I will continue to post in your thread because you are lying to members here, telling them your cars for sale are legal, and they are not. Just tell them the truth and I'll stop posting.

I'm not trying to fuel the fire here, and I have no experience importing younger than 25 yr. old Japanese spec vehicles, but when I came back from an overseas tour it was a hassle to try to ship my US Spec Vehicle that I purchased in Italy.....I now have to keep the EPA inspection, DOT, US Customs, and NHSTA importation paperwork in the car and ever time I'm pulled over I present the police with the documents and I'm on my way. This same situation is also applied to the Q45 below. However, I have had experience with 25+ yr. old vehicles and they are fairly easy!
