looking for advice on wheel/tire fitment
need advice on a set of wheels and tires that i am considering for my 2GS.
i am lowered on tein CS to about a 1 finger gap, and my fenders are rolled (but not pulled).
tires are falken FK452 235 40 19 F/ 245 40 19 R
(yes i know the tires will have a stretch in them).
wheels are 19x9+30 F/ 19x10 +30 R.
yay or nay? should i be running a 35-series, or...?

Should be a slam-dunk with those offsets.
I personally prefer a shorter tire on the GS;
I'd go with 235/35-19 + 265/30-19; see V8_Aristo's car for a peek at how good these look!

I agree that it will be a slam dunk on the offsets.......but only because the tein CS and cant go all that low.
but if later you decide you want to go lower stance, then get you some 15mm spacers for all four and be flush:thumbsup:

So what offset will normally get the wheels flush with the fender anyway with say with 8.5 wides in front and 10s in back?

+15 on the 10's in the rear will be flush.....but you gotta be pretty damn low. otherwise you stick out.
on a 9, to be flush you gotta run a +10(front
on a 8.5......+0 front

these specs are more like it for a more aggressive vip look.
but they will stick out and not work for you due to your suspension.
unless you can get the fender close to the tire (adding -camber on its own)
and if I'm not mistaken, the CS wont get you there.
but the first specs 19x9+30 F/ 19x10 +30 R. will be fine with the mild drop the CS give.
and if you decide to go more aggressive in the future with suspension.....than run 15mm spacers on all 4 and be flush:thumbsup:

GATO... is there a camber kit for the GS?

GATO... is there a camber kit for the GS?
not needed. the camber will happen on its own the lower you go.
but on the tein Cs you are running.....going with 19x9+30 and 19x10+30 it will have the illusion of an OK fitment....
but i guarantee you, after some time you might decide to go more aggressive on stance.
if this happens, then those specs above wont work for you ......do to the fact that the lower you go, the more -camber you get, thus making your set up look more sunken in:cool:
and if that happens, nothing wrong with going with 15mm all around. you'll be sittin just like my GS.
but who knows, you might end up sticking with the 1 finger gap on the 9 and 10 with +30's.....good luck

i wish i could go lower, but i can't. from the speed bumps at work to my driveway at home i am already scraping the front and my exhausts :(
the +30 wheels were sold... i waited to long and paid the price.
i found a set of fabulous profounds, 19x9/19x10.5 +20 offsets... way past the +30. so i thought i could just go negative with the camber but i guess that's a no go either.

this is a 20x9+35 front, 20x10+37 rear. i have about 1"-1.5" of drop left on the teins, but i can't go any lower for the driveway/speedbump problems mentioned earlier.
There is no doubt you are making a good move going to 19's...in my opinion.
Although i would love to park mine in the garage.....(it wont go up the driveway:drool: ) its just gonna have to wait til air comes.
as far as speed bumps.....well, there are some you will be able to clear and some you wont.
if you'de like, I can look up a pic that resembles a nice fitted 19 on a fingar gap??

but here is a pic on a finger gap...this is probably waht you would look like on the Tein CS....since they dont slam.
these specs are
fronts - 19x9 +24 (245/35-19)
rears - 19x10 +29 (275/30-19)

No....I Do like it.....
what I was trying to show you is one on 19's with relative offsets your trying to get......and even with 1 finger gap....it looks better than the 20's your running.........please no offense...
your car would look really good on 19's...even with the tein CS.
here is another view....it looks good....sittin fat not sunken.

maybe it's because i can't see up close in the pics... i can't zoom in because the resolution is too low.
simplename has a set of jp scaras in that exact same offset, but a slightly larger rear... 19x9 +24/19x10.5 +29 in black.
should i do it gato?

i say do it, those offsets will work perfectly as long as you cut the rear fender.

back from the dead... same questions, new problems:
19X9.5" +45mm front with about 2.5" lip (A Disk) 5X114.3
19X10.5" +45mm rear with about 3.25" lip (A Disk) 5X114.3
again, it is for a lexus gs400 that is lowered on tein CS coils, and the fenders are rolled. trying to get a 1 finger gap if i haven't bottomed out on the coilover threads already.
i've been warned that the fronts might rub on the inside against the teins, but i have nothing substantial to confirm. i cannot test fit since i'm in canada and the wheels.... are not
help?
