Other than cars, what Japanese things do you like
Other than your car, what else in your life is japanese influenced or what things do you like to eat/do that have something to do with japan.
For me I have been watching anime for as long as i can remember (sub'd not dub'd) So that got me started. I frequently listen to a lot of japanese music and get japanese snacks over american snacks all the time. I eat sushi and other stuff when i can as well.
Pretty much im japanese washed, everything is good! I even grew my hair super long for fun
How about you

I love everything about it except the traditional stuff (I'm not very interested in traditional anything), though I love the old architecture and art.
I love Pocky, Hi Chew, and Sangaria Fruit Sodas and ramune
I like to listen to J-Pop (and some rap and rock), I like japanese toys..everything is so damn cute, and all the gadgets...

I am also into the Japanese culture. I am pretty hardcore animefan too, There is a site called www.crunchyroll.com that has plenty of anime, movies, and j-pop videos. Check it out. Lately I think alot has been taken off the site due to copyrights or something. But you can still view shows. I like eating at hibachi table (not sure if that is americanized.) I used to watch all the best motoring and hot versions, when I had my drift car. I find Japanese history very interesting as well.

Does anybody read Giant Robot? Cool little magazine on Asian-related articles from American perspecive. It's Asian in general but often a lot of cool Japanese stuff. Articles on pretty much anything except cars: food, art, anime, music, film, and many unusual topics. Great for all you japan-asiaphiles out there :P

Lets see... Japanese food; Natto, umeboshi, konowata and of course all the popular stuff like sushi, sashimi, gyudon, ramen, tempura, shabu shabu, soba, i could go on
Funny enough i dont really make time for Anime/manga, although i keep telling myself to rent some DVDs and turn the subtitles off for practice
Architecture, interior decorations, futons, door curtains
Japanese clothes like ska-jan, tobi-pants, male school uniforms, the oldschool gangster version of the school uniforms
I love japanese courteousness, mobile phone manners, honesty and the way that everyone seems to be a happy drunk
I also like the fact that you can walk down a dark street at night and not worry if someone is going to bash/kill you.
Gadgets, everybody loves gadgets
My interest in Japanese cars came as a coincidence and well after spending a year there on youth exchange. I guess thats a blessing, because it meant i spent my time learning and experiencing other aspects of japanese society

I have to say I like their food, candy, toys, motorcycles, gardens, movies, TV shows, samurai/ninja weapons, electronics, weird inventions, lifestyle/culture, etc. etc. Some of their anime is pretty neat also. Aside from the major cities, the untouched side of Japan looks very beautiful...their forests and all.

Japanese culture in general, and their concept of honor. We could learn a lot in that department here in the states.
Sushi is the best food there is. Hot sake is f'n awesome. Origami is a nice way to relieve stress also.

I thought I was the only one. Yoran and Gakuran style uniforms are bad ass.
I am interested in the "fringe" of japanese society. Otaku, car tuners, yakuza, bosozoku, yanki, tattoo and body modification artists in Japan. Im a history/anthropology/sociology nerd so I find this material quite fascinating. I have many books on the subject, one of the memorable ones was:
Speed Tribes: Days and Night's with Japan's Next Generation by Karl Taro Greenfeld
# ISBN-10: 0060926651
# ISBN-13: 978-0060926656
Its a quick read.
