Got another Lexus yesterday :)

We'll I decided against the heavy mods I wanted to do to the SL. Im still in $hock over buying the damn thing....sooooooo, I picked up an LS400 to start a small VIP project with.

I found an Original owner who just upgraded to a newer model. Its pretty basic (4 now;) ) and has cloth interior, which I kinda like. A couple scrapes here n there but its a nice platform to get started with.

Now I just have to find time to work on it....

Its gonna need a LOT of cleaning. Everything is orig. has the factory phone switches on the well worn steering wheel...that needs to be swapped... U G L Y :(

Has the spare / jack and tools in the trunk. Thats something that I always look for after the service records when buing a car. Kinda lets you know how much they 'cared' about a car ;)

I'll be using the search function a lot to see 'what' can be done with these and 'How' to do it.

Im happy :)

hey driftgrl, congrats on the LS... we actually quite a bit of cloth-interior LS celsiors in hawaii, u just gotta know where to look.... for example, i looked at one last wk from an older gentleman:

http://honolulu.craigslist.org/oah/car/285339214.html

older dude's 2nd car, but then the AC's all bust. i actually would prefer the cloth interior on my next vip car projekt so that i can buy a set of the interior/re-skin covers from robert {*|*} coz then that'd make the seats all new, then it'll just be the dash and door panels to worry over... but yah, good luck on your projekt and if it's anything like ur drift car, i am sure it'll turn out sick! woot-woot!

I wouldn't want to look, maybe why I've never seen these cars, the cloth models lack "extras" that to me are necessary in a true VIP car. They're all yours! Not to mention older LS's are pretty cheap to come by, even with leather and the works. The money you'd spend to "fix" not having those items would be more than if you just bought the loaded model to begin with. Just my $0.02

Thank you sooo much :)

Thats what I was thinking when I bought it: I love the body style, but being that old, the leather would need to be replaced anyway. Every car that I have has leather interior, i didnt realize how nice it was to tget into the car on a cold (or hot) day and not have to lay a Tshirt down and let the AC (or heated seats) run before driving off. I will end up replacing the cloth when I figure out a color, but its a nice change for a while :)

Money isnt really that big of an issue. I PREFER to start with a blank canvass when building a car...like an artist :)

I just got a car last Sept or so, with Navi and almost every option (sum Id never use) available on it...I will be pulling that crap out this summer. I can throw a rock over my city, so The navigation system really isnt needed. :p

^^^^ ahhh, the true words of an enthusiast, why "buy" when you can "build". plus i heard the jdm seat covers are cigarette-burn proof and repels water pretty well. all jibby-jabbah nonsense aside, its takes a true enthusiast to be creative and resourceful. hell, why buy someone else's project car and call your own?!?! dats like me buying a vip car all done up, change some rims or bolt on this and that and then say i built it and take the credit. nikka pls, gimme a brk...lol....oh wellz, some people do it and it's all good! i'm just hellah glad a lady in the scene is tearing it up w/a celsior! you go gurl! Thanks- (arigatou) btw, we re-did our website: www.executivekonnexion.com -- peas and alohaz from the 808!!! woot-woot! VR, mikey

I just got a car last Sept or so, with Navi and almost every option (sum Id never use) available on it...I will be pulling that crap out this summer. I can throw a rock over my city, so The navigation system really isnt needed. :p

That's cool. Didn't know the scale of what you had planned, should be interesting. I just assumed you were starting off slow since you're new to VIP, but I guess you want to hit the ground running.

HER NEW....... LOL

Shes been on here way before you came around. She signed up on the 1st original forum and has been reading and taking notes for a while. Now that she has a VIPcar she knows what she wants to do. If im NOT mistaken she was asking questions back in the day before VSC came around on CL.

Em......... show us how its done Lady Like

That's nice. Look forward to seeing what she has up her sleeve. I've seen many nice VIP rides owned/built by girls. The latest VIP CAR cover is a girl's car...
