Y33 Console Lights

Hi Guys,

I have a bulb out on the A/C controls of my Y33 (2000). Does anyone know what size bulbs fit that center unit with the A/C controls? I figure since Im replacing one, I might as well convert to LEDs. I have seen the answer somewhere before but can not find it, all I remember is it is a twist and lock bulb.

Also, does the same bulb fit the cluster? I might as well swap those as well.

The cluster, and clock take 74's, they will fit loose at first, you have the spread the wires out a little bit so they fit snug in the socket. The ac controls take t4 twist lock bulbs. For the switches, you have to solder in led's if you want to change those. I've swapped every single bulb in my dash out for blue led's, I'll try to get some pics up this weekend if you want.

Wow that looks pretty good. Im going with white but I want to get the white/purple like Infiniti has in the new ones. How hard was it to remove the cluster? I might need to do it all at one especially if they 194 bulbs..

Haha thanks drew! Or should I say king of Q's with the fleet you got lol. The cluster is super easy to take out. Move the wheel all the out and down (away from the dash) there 2 Phillips head screws at the top of the cluster shroud. Take those out and then where the security light is, there's 2 wires on the back side, they are too short to give you the slack you need so what I did was just cut them and then extended them like 6 inches. Once the shroud is out of the way there's 4 screws total, one in each corner of the cluster. Use a magnetic tip screwdriver or they will fall and get lost in the dash. Flip the cluster face down and unplug the 3 harnesses on the backside. There are 4 lights that light up the main gauges, gas speed rpm and temp. Those are the ones you want to change. Then there is a fifth for the odometer if you want to change that. I personally changed all the bulbs, all the gear indicators, blinkers, everything is blue. Every light in the cluster is a 194. Hope that helps.

Okay, so I finally got to take the console apart and the bulbs do not fit.. I ordered the 74s as suggested and they are slightly too big. I would shave them down but I dont think that would be the best idea.. Whats the size below a 74? or has anyone had this issue?

I ordered the "Order Neo Wedge Based LED Bulbs (shown above): $3.99 ea".
