Thinking about moving to Vegas.....

I'm getting too old for the weather here in NJ and I'm getting killed in taxes no matter which way I turn.  My buddy moved to Vegas a few years back and I'm thinking about moving out there, at least for the winter months.  My work is virtual and I don't have kids, so it's not such a tough move for me.  I'm just trying to get a feel for the daily grind in Vegas....good....bad....ugly....any tips on what to look for or stay away from.  I've been out to Vegas several times for SEMA and work, but never spent more than a week out there.

Any local insight would be fantastic, so please, share your experiences to help me make up my mind......and convince my wife to move.....=)

Cost of living is dirt cheap, everything is always open, no last calls, food is bomb, no humidity. I'd move back if I could but I'm still waiting for the wifey to finish school.

Pretty good prices on houses in vegas and if you like hot summer temps then you'll love it there

I'll probably live in Vegas from Sep to Apr and then back to the East Coast during the summer.

I hate Vegas! Lol but it's what I can afford right now lol
