what has a better ride to it??air bags or air cylinders. which one do you guys use most?
ive had both, i prefer the cylinders with acumulators

I've used bags more than cylinders. Either can be just as "comfortable" with the right execution. Both can be equally as BAD (ride quality wise) depending again, on the execution.
I guess it really depends on pressure. My ucf20 rides very rough at over 150 and below 135. Usually i ride the front at 138-40 and the rear at 120-125. The struts are on the softest setting, being the closest ride to the stock.
Do either give 'stiff' suspension, like say, coilovers? Or just uncomfortable in other ways?
I've used both and installed both on many cars. I always recomend airbags over struts. If installed correctly they will ALWAYS ride better than strut because they require less pressure to work. A lot also depends on quality of pressure switch, valves, compressors,etc. They all work together. Just my 2 cents
Depending on the pressure. I get a more "Stiff" feeling at higher pressures and a more "soft" feeling at lower pressures. I have yet to adjust the dampening on the strut itself to see if it makes any difference.

Or just uncomfortable in other ways?[/QUOTE] theoretically a bag on coilover would but it would take some adjustments. like not allowing the bag full length to expand. so that it would get full and air pressure would build up in the bag faster to maek stiffer *spring* rates it works on paper, and theory. But i have yet to test it out for real. i found out i couldnt due to clearances in my suspension geometry

But i have yet to test it out for real. i found out i couldnt due to clearances in my suspension geometry[/QUOTE] ive done universal strut over bags on production (jic) coilovers on my old q. it worked well, except for the lack of clearance in the fender well, which seems to be a problem on the g50, but not other platforms... others have done the same. maybe some of the old timers can chime in. as for the ride, it rides much better than a cylinder w/out dampening (acc). im not sure if my assessment is a good one, since i always drove with as little air in them as possible. the only time i really inflated the bags was to get into the driveway. here are some old pics, chicken skin for those that remember that far back...
