How can I make my VW look like a VIP Druglord's dream.

Hey Everyone,

I know my topic is kinda random. But at least I got you to click. :P I am looking for any advice, recommendations and suggestions. Just a brief history, I have been working on my VW for 2-3 years, it's started off 1 way and evolved from thier. It's been in and out of shops getting little things added as time goes on. After my most recent car show visit inspired me to do something out of the norm. It will be normal for you (vipstylecars.com crew), but unique and different in the VW world.

I love VIP stance, the exklusiv wheels and the cleaniness of the aerodynamics. But I would like to know what can be done to be acceptable in the VIP culture?

If you can show me in Photoshop terms, I would greatly appreciate it. If not, I'll take your word for it. :P

The White one is a winner (minus crooked intercooler ;) ) You really cant go wrong with Weds.

No offence, but I thought VIP stance was a take off the VW/Euro 'poke' stance that started many years ago in Germany! And bodykits these days are without a doubt copies of OEM european luxury bumpers.

So apart from the fact that you would have Japanese rims in place of German Schmidts etc, you would end up with something that looks very similar to other modded euro's!

But if you are keen to try something different here is a suggestion: Camber... Something you rarely see on Euro cars, but its quite popular in the vip world. See if you can dial in 5 degrees or more, for a look that will definitely spin people out

Then take an OEM merc E-class or S-class bumper and chop/mold it on to your car. Add sideskirts with door panels, a matching rear bumper and you will have something that looks very similar to the Japanese kits.

None taken, but isn't tuck more than poke in VIP scene? Also an air suspension is something I am doing research on. The euro kit these days are far too aggressive, almost to the late 90s Veilside styling.

I would rather rock a japanese wheel than a schmidt. Schmidts are great, but been rocking them far too long and looking something more classy. I had my eye on the Work Equips 5-spoke, but seems like a classic JDM than VIP.

Due to the solid rear axle beam, it will be harder to accomplish. But I am looking for suggestions. Even considering grabing a rear subframe from a different car (ie a Lexus or Infiniti).

Can you post some pictures of an E or S class or what you are thinking? I have done some plastic welding on my wife's passat. So it's deffinitely doable.
But I am not quite sure what you mean about sideskirts with door panels?

Also, are Black, White or Silver exterior colors the norm in VIP? Would a rootbeer brown work with tan/beige interior? or even baby blue?

There are no rules on colours anymore, you see vipcars in anything from Hot pink to fluoro yellow (not that it looks good)....

btw, that last dub you posted is exactly what i am talking about - it has japanese rims, a kit which wouldnt look out of place on a vip car (maybe a few less holes in the front), and yet it looks unmistakably Euro.

As for camber, the Scions etc also have solid axle rear suspension yet they manage to get camber going... Not sure how though. Would be something custom i imagine...


Anyway about the bumpers... i dont know the specific model/year, but i have seen them on mercs, beemers, audis etc... Anyway, the ones that look similar to this:

Mostly flush really, poke is more of a V-Dub/Euro thing. But a lot of Vip styled cars tuck too, or aren't hella flush, the Junction Cars are an example.

Mixing Euro and Vip inspiration would be cool indeed, like Euro (v)Dub but classier?

As for your hood/rub strip combos, I like #2 the best, painted I think it would look better than a Boser style, and the rub strips make it look more OEM quality, and less we-forgot-the-moldings Tuner.

Oh, and root beer would be tasty if it's the colour I'm picturing.

As for solid rear axle 'camber', I seem to remember an old thread that had a 70's Toyota or something where the guy heated up and bent the axle itself!  

Anyone else remember that project?

You [B]can[/B] camber a solid axle.. Either cut/weld. or heat/bend . . Or if the hubs bolt on the same way all the older VW's did.. then get a wedge spacer made up with a matching wedge pad for the bolts.. any camber you want. . They sell those for scions. .
 Baaaaack in the day.. old SAAB rally racers would pile abunch of kids in the back and drive over really big bumps the bend the axles to achieve camber. .lol

when the camber changes, so does the toe.  I have done it and it made my Jetta drive like complete shit.

The plates are slanted and mount behind the hub, angling the hub that the the wheels bolt to. These plate are also designed to correct the toe issues mentioned above. This dramatically increases the life of the tire.

I'm with everyone else, thought, it's totally doable on vdubs. There was a gti in a performance vdub magazine last summer that had an awesome interior that would go along with what you want to do. As far as colors, I'm a fan of silver, black, white, and root beer has been growing on me a ton. I just love the look of the color.
