Very nice,
Was it taken down to the metal before paint?
How many coats did they use before wet sanding?

My name is Ray. I've been good friends with Lorin since 01 or 02, I've also known Mike Craig and Ranzo for just as long.
I don't have anything to do with the build, so I can't answer questions. I'm just showing the pictures.

WOW How did this get here. Ray must have been bored, so guess Ill spill on the work.
As you can see in the pix it was just a respray over factory paint and them damned orange parts. I did this in 3 days. the car was pretty much stripped down and scotch brighted.
The rear fenders had been rooled and they were pretty good but needed a little putty. There was a few nicks and scratches here and there and I sanded them out and primed them up to.
Now te paint was jap Alasco base coat black. I out down three coats of that then I mixed up 4 quarts of clear with 6 grams of flake and sprayed that on with 2 coats of straight clear to help burry the flake.
We let that dry over night then flatened it with 800# and shot 2 more coats of clear on that. A week later i was able to go back and really it only need some dirt nibs rubbed out but I was bored and this was on its way being the best paint job out of the hobby shop at yokota base so I went all out and flatened it with 1500 and buffed it out to the mirror shine.
I would normaly get 4500 for this paint job and up to 6000 if it had graffics or paterns ( viva la low rider).
Its the flake that gives it its red hues I used just HOK red mini flake. I have done a ton of flake jobs so to me this was nothing special. But it turned out just after TAS and there were alot of shit flake jobs there so the guys that had gone with me were really suprized at total night and day differance between skill leveles. I guess I have skills I won the mothers award at SEMA for paint without even knowing they had such a prize. But for me its the one thing I can do really good. Allot of people really exelle at many things my thing just happens to be cars.
By the way Im back in Saudi and am just starting on the Kia project I will post some build pix as I go.
