SHUMAI UCF30 Build
BACK IN THE GAME!
Just bought this LS430 off my friend, who bought it off Brian at PG Motoring.
04 Flint Mica, black interior Ultra Luxury.
Sorry for the instagram pics but thats all youre gonna get since Im tryna be #instafamous
You can follow me on instagram @vincentshumai, I usually will post up pics of my car often.
Previously had a LS400 on ssr agle strusse, pictured here. Picked up a miata while I was on the search for a LS430 to my liking. Finally found one!
And here are the pics Ive taken so far of the LS430.
My friend Donnie signing over the car to me, peep that rolex
Snapped a pic in the parking lot with it aired down (cups)
Headlights needed some love, so I hit up my homie Jordan Mo who just so happens to detail cars in socal. He brought them back to life and opti coated them so they wont fade / yellow again for years to come
Wasted no time in modding. Bought these full assembly replacement led license plate lights and installed them. Ridiculously bright, those 5 led SMT T10 lights aint got shit on these. As bright, if not brighter than some peoples headlights
Installed. Thats it for day 1, still need to smog it and register the car.

Ordered a Blitz Throttle Controller to get rid of the initial throttle lag. We'll see how I like it after I install
Went to my mechanics to get my oil change done. Front bumper has ton of rock chips and a crack. Going to send it to my uncle's bodyshop to get it repaired and resprayed.
Putting on my Swerve decal. Just a group I started with my close friends who are into cars as well.

Stopped by Super Muffler in Arcadia today to get some work done.
Decided to remove my kbreak mufflers and put on some 4.5" exhaust tips.
Chopped off the 3rd cat
Replaced it with a magnaflow x pipe and 2.25" piping off the headers to the factory resonators
Welding on my exhaust tips off the car.
Finished pics. Still need to go back to weld on another hanger on each side. He didnt have them in stock so he had to special order it.
Theres some scuffs on the sides of the exhaust hole opening from where the kbreak tips hit the bumper. Need to get it resprayed or use some touch up paint

Total for everything, he only charged me $50. But Ive been going there forever so he hooks it up. Any other place wouldve been easily over $100. I provided my own x pipe and tips. All he did was labor, cutting off the kbreak mufflers, welding on the tips, cut off 3rd cat, weld on x pipe with new piping before the x and after the x leading to the factory resonators

Any issues with check engine light replacing the 3rd cat? I'm guessing there is no o2 sensors on that. Havent really looked under but I am looking for an exhaust shop that would allow me to do some custom work with my new bumper on order. I usually go to Mike's but i cant fit in the rails with my wheels haha.

No CEL because no o2 sensor on the 3rd cat. I didnt go to mikes either coz im too afraid of curbing my wheels on their rack. Try supermuffler

Realized I never included a pic of my trunk setup. Here it is!
One of my water traps is leaking slightly from the bottom push release. I heard that the bottom pin is just the same thing thats inside of a tire valve stem, and I could unscrew it and replace it. Anyone know if this is true?

Depends on the trap, but some use schrader valves, that is true.
Take a look at it and see. Trunk looks dope btw makes me want dual compressors just for the symmetry.

Finally got the car back! Had the mouth of the bumper painted gloss black, shaved trunk emblems, fiberglass repaired the front and rear bumper and resprayed the hood.
Also replaced the chrome molding on the bumpers. Need to buy more so I can replace the ones on my window visors.

Turns out I got a check engine light. Didnt think much of it. Took it to my mechanic and had him clear the code (knock sensor). Started the car to leave, and the code came back. So had my mechanic check it out, and he saw my wire exposed and mouse poop next to it. Turns out a mouse decided to chew on my knock sensor wires while my car was at DTM for 2 weeks. GREAT!
Hopefully it isnt too expensive to fix since its just the wires and not the actual sensor.. Or atleast I think so, havent took it all apart to find out yet. Gonna take it back to my mechanic tomorrow and see what the damage is...

sorry to hear man! certain sensor wires are shielded to keep interference at bay. a simple resolder of the wire may work for the mean time but not for long term. keep that in mind when doing the repair.

Good thing my friend is a tech at a lexus dealership. Hes coming over to my house saturday to help me fix it. Thank god
And for some reason I cant post youtube links. It keeps saying I need moderator's approval... weird
Always great to know a good tech the price is always right and you can count on the quality of the work being there...we see mouse chewed wires a bunch in the winter here I know of a Sienna that was fixed one day and towed in the next with the same wires chewed let your uncle know of his rodent problem these repairs can be costly to say the least

My friend came by today and helped me repair the knock sensor wiring. Luckily hes a tech at a lexus dealership.
Intake manifold off
Chewed up wires and vacuum hoses
Check out the home the mouse built in my engine. I dont know how this even happened but thank god I got it fixed before it caused any real damage

Had a BBQ at my friend's shop on saturday. Found 2 pics floating around online and decided to share it here.
BTW, anyone know how to remove the amber portion in the headlights? Does it just come off or do I have to replace it with another clear lexan/plastic piece?

To do it you need to cut the seal to separate the lens from housing then pull the amber out and recreate it with a clear piece of plexiglass or something.

Was driving around today and my steering wheel kept shaking. The car would hop up and down everytime I drove. At first I thought it was a flat so I got out to check my tires and there was still plenty of air in it. Went to the tire shop to have them check it out. Guess what they found?
Learned my lesson. Never buying used tires ever again. And to think I thought I got a good deal too. Just thankful I wasnt on the freeway, in case it would have exploded.

Those tires are achilles, but to be fair this is the only pair of achilles I had that bubbled up on me. And I bought them used. All my previous achilles tires were bought new and they were fine. Just my luck haha

Har Har Har...............Thats actually pretty funny. Ive been running Achilles out back through three sets of nankang on my front and just now flipped them.In my opinion they are a long lasting and inexpensive tire. Been looking for some achilles for the front but seems like everyone is out of stock,,,are these being pulled from the market for some kind of defect?

No. They're pretty much in backorder everywhere because Achilles ATR Sport is being discontinued. Achilles will be releasing a new line of tires that's directional, which means you can't flip them.

the current ATR sports are already directional, i think you meant the new line will be asymmetrical. this is how tire manus get ya! no more flipping!

"it is not a tumor", sorry i couldn't resist that one...
good thing you weren't driving much faster and damaged a rim, that would have been a bad day for sure...
so you are just taking out the air cups and adding air bags? can you explain this part further. i presently have air cups on bc coils and didn't know it was that easy to swap to bags, what exactly are you doing if you don't mind explaining.

he's removing the cups and coilovers completely and going to airrex which is a bag/coilover strut combo. one of the guys on here just recently stated that airrex struts are manufactured by bc.

airrex struts are made by BC hmm interesting. i know airrex makes their own bags, since they are associated with a rubber company. it's only right that they have a good coilover/bag combo kit out in the market today.
