Fatlace GS; 2006 Lexus GS430

Just started the build today after almost 1 year stock car enjoyment
Now thats all gone and the battle between road and car meet. :saiyancrunks:

Bought: April 2012
Stock GS430 From Longo lexus got a great deal w/ the full package (gps/sensors/yadayada).
This specific car will be one of the showcase vehicles this year for Fatlace.
Heres my introduction thread that i explained a little more into detail about plans.

Picked up my Vertex; Digna kit [Feb 12. 2013]
Vertex one of the main sponsors and helping us greatly for the Vehicle
Thank you to Dat Nguyen President of VertexUSA for all his help!

Dropped off the car at DTMautobody a few days ago
Today they're putting on the kit for test fitting and off to the paint booth.
They'll be shooting the kit with the stock color of the car. Also a few pieces of the car that got dull (stock lip wing)
Also they're going to fit my OEM parking sensors from the stock bumper to the kit
so my horrible asian driving skills will remain the same because I've relied on these parking
sensors for the past year and i cant park a compact smart car if my life depended on it. :|

Thanks to Nate Leon & Owner of DTM autobody for all their help! should see the car out of paint next week or a little after

Also picked up these fenders by ED. We'll be fitting and painting it at a later date when the wheels arrive.
Since i do not have the wheels yet i don't want to get the fenders put on now and gonna have to cut up the Fiberglass and so on and so on.
Also gonna see how i like it on the overall build when the wheels/air/kit is on. May or may not like it but if not, FOR SALE! haha

Im very excited for the build.
TRYING to make it down to the AutoFashion meet next month.

Still talking to a selected few air-ride companies so hopefully i can get the air on before the meet.

Keep you posted till then!

Got a couple of shots from the body shop. Test fit which should not be a problem w/ Vertex & Measuring for the parking sensors.

Looking forward to this build.

They're a few but yeah as i was body kit hunting the vertex kit was so simple and sleek. Kinda giving a little race look on a big body car. Hope I make the car into yours and everyones liking!

-------------------

On a side note; Been contacting the guys over at AirREX Air Suspensions which have been super super awesome and very helpful..

We're in the processes of working everything out and getting the full kit w/ struts & wireless management as we speak. I hope to see the kit installed in the next few weeks! I'll also do a little video/photos on install on my 3GS. Since the management basically comes already set up in an enclosed box and all i need to do is power the unit and run the air lines to the struts should be quick and painless. I want to see how fast and obviously surely we can get this kit installed. I wanted to try to get the car out to the AutoFashion Grand Opening but trying not to rush the body shop so they can take their time. So I'm shooting for our companies next show Slammed Society over at Formula Drift in Long Beach. Really excited to debut everything there

Thanks to Paul Higashi of AirREX for all the help and support

Funny is I thought it was to much for myself too. As much as I wanted a 3GS I was looking into a 02-03 M45. Searched far and wide but they were either too much for what it was worth or way way over on miles. Then got curious and passed by Longo looked at a few gs300 & 350's Left w/ a 430 :| but got a great deal and no regrets :)

evilchargerfan;486704 wrote:In For pics of the vertex kit painted!

Just dropped off the 08-11 grille & trim which is required for the Vertex Kit. Its totally different from the 06-07 grille/trim so I was required to get. Luckily we had a friend over at a Local Lexus dealership and was able to hook it up a bit! So hopefully in the next week or so we'll be seeing it!

Forum image

I was also able to get my Extreme Dimensions Fender's in time but as soon as we unwrapped them the fitment looked ok but the shop already test fitted all the other parts with the stock fenders. Im sure the guys at DTM are more than able to install them but if it was to much of a problem i might be skipping the fender install. But I hope to get them on now.

I hate whenever we get fiberglass parts to our body shop everyone just thinks its just fine to paint it and expects that it'll line up perfectly.

Update:
So, Fenders didnt make it in on time like i said. So we skipped the fender replacment. But all the parts were fitted and slightly adjusted and its going through paint now.
Hope to see it out of the shop in about a week or maybe less. Cant wait!

Also on some awesome news. AirREX jumped along and will be helping along with the Air Suspension! Cant wait to get that in.
Also wrapping up some stuff w/ James W. of Weds and should see some pretty awesome things for the car.

Also mentioned in my last post that I picked up an exhaust locally. Gave it a good spit shine and looks almost like new. Got them installed shortly after I picked up the car.

Also mentioned in my last post that I picked up an exhaust locally. Gave it a good spit shine and looks almost like new. Got them installed shortly after I picked up the car.

i think majority of the guys keep the parking sensor with the kit installs. most lexus if you don't have the sensor hook up it give you a nasty beeping noise inside the car too. some kits even have the sensor hole pre mark for you in case you do need to transfer over.

for me once i drive the car with sensors i hate to drive it without....it is so much easier.

after installing this i am pretty impressed with airrex and what they've put together. the simplicity of the all-in-one box makes installation a breeze. of course the strut/bag combo is well made though i wish they used poly bushings instead of rubber. the system works surprisingly well especially the wireless controller! since power is hardwired directly to battery w/o relays i was concerned that the battery would drain while parked if it ever developed a leak. however the system is smart enough to know the voltage level so if it drops below i believe 11.5V the system will not continue to run. this means the car usually needs to be on, alternator charging, for the compressor to replenish. The 3 gallon tank may be too small for the weight of this car but it works.

i have yet to take a ride due to the tight schedule yogi put himself in this past weekend! i'm happy at the outcome and for you man!

it may be worth mentioning but we adjusted the length of these. from the factory the struts are at its shortest height bottomed out on the housings as shown in the pic. this was too low to our liking so we lengthened the struts about 1-1.5" to get a better lift since yogi wanted a close-to-stock height at full up due to his kit. i was surprised at how much travel the air bags gave, esp the front dual bellow bags. at this point the drop is limited to suspension travel (front upper a-arm hits the shock tower). this just goes to show if you want to really slam your car on air, the airrex kit can do it!

Yeah, well lets see. To start off with at least. I know with this lets just say a "VIP platform" vehicle. That I'd be sorta breaking the rules of the whole styling. I understand I'll get mixed reviews on me using a once piece race wheel (Wed Sport SA55m). Going with a not so VIP looking kit, that being the Vertex kit which is found on the JP Drift GS's in D1. Everyone knows that Vertex is known for they're race looking kits, But hey I like the kit. I like how it brings out a race look to the car. But also trying to keep that Big body/VIP of going with the AirREX air suspension for the comfort and ease of getting around everywhere w/o break half the car.

What kind of made me go this route is. I feel personally I like to do things a little different, Not trying to set a trend or have anyone follow in my footsteps. Even with the mix feelings of what ever I've done to the car, I guess you can call it personal preference . So far I got a lot of love, Yet I also see some people like oh thats different. Hate is to a minimum but I know its there, Im sure they're a few people on here that want to give me a piece of their mind. Please, I welcome the a. I will take no offense to it.

A really good friend of mine Ming of Standard Functions was sorta the inspiration behind this. We've hung out time after time at the shop just looking at whats hot and whats not states side & internationally. We've talked about dude lets just throw some racing seats in the cars and see what people say. He also talked about getting TE's for his m45 and i was sorta like damn. that could be krazy. Then time passed by and this happened

Forum image

I fell in love with it instantly. I Feel he pulled the look of really great and it just messed w/ my mind a bit seeing race wheels on a "VIP" car

So yeah just trying to do something different. Hopefully for the post part people just enjoy the time and effort into what I put into the car.

thanks being so nice though haha :) =)

Yogi thanks for the AIRREX review. Car is coming out sick!

Some tips about that airrex system is if your not going to drive the car for awhile turn the switch off on the AMS box.

I know timmy mentioned that they were no relays.. all the relays are built into the PC board in the system.
Also just leave the wireess controller pluged into the charger, when you key off they system deactivates so if there is a leak some how the compressor will not turn on becuase the controller has to be on for anything to happen.
