My new Jaguar project

Yep, I sold my Evo for it. No regrets either.
The Evo was starting to develop transmission problems that the dealer would deny happening, and I didn't want to deal with it. Plus the Jag gets 30mpg, much better than the Evo.

I know it really doesn't fit the vip mold (as most euros in general), but it can still be influenced by the style, even though it's a sports car. I won't ever say it's vip, but I'm sharing with you guys because I think this is the only site that will be able to appreciate my project. (Jaguar forums suck.)

A lot of people aren't really about the Jag, but since only 10% of XK's built were Coupes, it means that you hardly see them on the road, which is cool.
I like it, and it's nice to have a car collection now that isn't 100% Japanese.

Anyway, here's some pics and my plans. We just got in good with a Jaguar tuning shop, and I can get stuff at half price, so I'll be able to afford to modify this V8 Beasty.
Here's it when I got to work after buying it:
The color is Ice blue over Biscuit leather.

I'm going to put on some (hopefully) multipiece 20x8.5, 20x10 with flush fitment. Haven't decided on the style yet.
Eibach springs
Some sort of dual exhaust

congrats on the new whip. i really like these cars but ive heard some horror stories about maitinence. just make sure you polish that paint to its full potential to show off all those curves. and get some VERY flush fitting wheels and youll be well on your way to the sexiest xk. i think some open wheels would look good on the xk to show off its big brakes. something like 8 spoke or 5 or 6. like whats on the newer xk's.

Thanks, most of the problems I've heard involve the timing chain guides, and nikisil liners. Fortunatly, my timing chain guides have been replaced with the revised ones, and California has low-sulfar fuel, which preserves the nikisil liners. Here's a pic I just snapped.

This could be very hot if you pull it off right. Stance and wheel fitment will be the biggest key. Not so sure if I like the Arden aero, there's other options out there. I just can't remember them..haha, I had to help a customer with one. Only one that comes to mind is Ritter. Here's their aero:

I'd do it for you if i was there still, but have BH to do it for you. That cut in the side skirt ain't that deep, its the shadow that makes it look more pronounced.

I dont think it really needs a kit, fix the stance and get a nice set of wheels and I think you will like the way it looks without a kit.

This could be a totally amazing project!

I would even check out Aston Martins for certain design ideas.

I had thought a 'budget' build on one of these would be to get a set of Aston take off wheels and run it super low on stretched tires. Its so much like a DB7.

Good color too!

First thing I've done is shave the side moldings. It took me 5 hours to do, as the adhesive had a very hard time coming off.
But as you can see, it looks much better now.
I've designed some wheels that should be in the engineering stage about now. I'm planning on 20x9 and 20x10, maybe 20x11.
Hopefully I can get the Jag lowered at about the same time...
After stance and wheels, I plan on getting aero for it, so we'll see how that goes.
Here's some pics of the Jag with shaved trim:

Very very nice car.

If you want a very VIP refined sound, opt for a Romulus exhaust.

Unorthodox. Veeeeery unorthodox. I like the XK though. It's a car with very good lines. However, I'm afraid you might ruin them with a kit. If it's feasible for you, I think you'd be much happier with stance and just pulled fenders. I think it might compliment the curves of the body more than any kit could. I'm def. excited to see where you go with this though.

Nice car. I used to drive my buddies xk8 convt., daily. We would tare that thing up! I jumped some railroad tracks once, ...flew a good 30ft. (He told me to punch it!) When I landed it cruched, and puntured the oil pan. ... Those were good times.

Imo, the coupes are WAY nicer looking than the covt.s. I dont know much about Jags, but the coupes look like the XKR, which is a FINE automobile. Styling looks similiar to a Vanquish.
