Ray316's new platform build thread **y50 content**

[FONT=Verdana][SIZE=3][SIZE=2][COLOR=#fff0f5]Hello everyone my name is Ray from Wichita KS. I've Been in the car scene since I was old enough to drive started with Hondas like a lot of us. As I got older I became more interested in the VIP culture a couple of years back and picked up my first platform a 97 ls400 coach edition I have a build thread on here somewhere. I decided I wanted something newer so the Lexus had to go after having it up for sale for a couple of months it finally sold and I found a good deal on a clean one owner '07 Infiniti m35 rwd with 80k miles on it so picked it up about 2 months ago. The process has been slow on this one but I feel like it’s someone presentable now so decided to post a build thread to show ya’ll where I'm at.

[SIZE=3]did a few lil mods here and there like replacin all the interior and most exterior lights with white LED's and some seamless window visors

[/FONT][SIZE=3]I came up on some wheels that ive always liked auto couture magnifiques in 19s i wanted to go with 20s but this was too good of a deal for the condition theyre in. I had second thoughts on them at first so i put them up for sale which they still are because i still think 20s suit this platform more.

[SIZE=3]so ordered some coilovers temporarily i plan on getting air in the future went with d2's with custom spring rates since theyre true rear coilovers didnt wanna have to mess with adjusting from spring bucket arm thing

[SIZE=3]set on the parts for a while until yesterday when i got my tires hit up my boy to have them mounted went with 215/35 on 9 225/35 on 10 for a nice stretch. Also installed my coilovers with the help of one of my friends

[SIZE=3]after messing with the height to get the best possible stance ended up maxing out the front the rear has ways to go but until i get more camber probably wont drop it more since my rear wheels are poking quite a bit

[SIZE=3]so that's where im at now next im going to get some camber and toe arms to get the rear wheels tucking and probably spacing out the front about 15mm for now. Eventually get air and some 20s and try to find a OEM lip kit.

one quick question for y50 guys ...My oem plastic splashguard under the engine has been worn and sagging since i bought the car didnt really bother me at stock height but now that ive lowered it it drags everywhere i wanted to replace it with a aluminum skid plate. A vendor on g35driver makes some oem spec aluminum under engine shrouds for a good price. Does anyone know the interchangebility between the y50 and g35/g37 sedans or coupes? wanted know if one of those will work?

wonder if it would require alot of modifications to make one fit?? the wheels are 19x9+15 with a 215/35, 19x10+15 with a 225/35 ...front is pretty sunk will be putting a spacer on it soon the rear pokes a lil bit will be fixing that with camber

Most just remove the [FONT=Calibri][SIZE=3]oem plastic splashguard

And the front D2's can be lowered more is you pre-load the spring more. You can also remove the 2nd ring for more room.

Because you have custom spring rates (smaller springs) you can take the lower sleeve off and take it to a machine shop and have them shorten it for you, you just need it to be about 1"-2" less.

What spring rate did you go for?[/SIZE][/FONT]

What are you selling the wheels for? Thats a good offset/fitment for Y34 guys.

18k/16k I think I'm just gonna wait till the springs settle and see where it sits I'm ok with the drop I think I just need bigger diameter wheels to fill the wheel wells more

Yes the 19's do look small and your tiny tires don't help fill up the wheel wells.

small update got rid of the 19's and picked up some 20" rotiform VCE convex from a member on here

The rears are 20x10.5 +15 w/ a 235/35 camber is at -7 pretty much stock quarters with a very very mild pull on them

that's what happens when you raise the spring rate but don't shorten the damper. also the bushings in those arms (spc, eibach, ichiba) are know for failing, keep an eye on them.

Yeah I realized that after I ordered the coilovers i removed the locking collars to get that extra inch i needed I plan on going on air next season ... I actually didn't use those arms I ended up going with battle version camber arms and Megan toe links

Yeah I realized that after I ordered the coilovers i removed the locking collars to get that extra inch i needed I plan on going on air next season ... I actually didn't use those arms I ended up going with battle version camber arms and Megan toe links

good choice, the ichibas are brutal!

The works my crew member kadburry posted didn't last long the rear poked out too much for my liking without crazy amounts of camber so I ditched and picked up some auto couture magnifiques custom step lipped to 20s by VR wheels the car is still static for now just a few small updates
