Achilles ATR Sport Stretch Failure

Hello fellow VIP lovers,
    I have searched around the forum I know a few people use the Achilles ATR Sports; I wanted to know does anyone have any experience on the strength of the sidewall? I've searched outside the forums found nothing. I live in New England so the roads are obviously worst then Cali; running 225/40/18 on 10. I just don't want it exploding on me when I hit a pothole. Thanks guys.

I just stretched Achillles ATR Sport 225/35/20 on my 10 and 245/35/20 on my 11. seems ok, but then again this is my first set of stretched tires. my tire/wheel guys say its good.

Let me know how they hold up. I see your in SoCal so I assume you guys don't have to deal with the harsh roads that we have here in the North East.

So cal has some extremely terrible roads - atleast where I lived in San Diego.  I'm on my third set of achilles and I have had zero issues running stretched.  I actually cracked 
a front wheel and the achilles tire was fine...didn't bubble, blow out...nothing.   Took the tire off, had the rim welded, put same tire back on.  Drove from San Diego to Phoenix on em too numerous times.  

That's just my experience though.

get a different brand, Achilles sux major balls.

I had a 225 35 on a mild 20x9 and the entire sidewall bubbled up. that was my 2nd Achilles tire with same problem. I thought the first one
was a defective tire. 

they are junk. Get a different brand. doesn't have to be a more expensive brand but just get something different.

Those tires are fine as long as you monitor your tire pressure

Well this is a little more comforting; I've heard mixed experiences. I'm a careful driver as is but just thought I'd here from the people with experience...an I will make sure to monitor the pressure

I keep mine at 40-42 psi.  I've had nothing but good luck *knock on wood* with achilles.  I'm running a 245 on a 19x11 -3. Now, federal and falken, my experiences with those are horrible but other people say those are the best tires they have ever had.  Realistically it's a crap shoot from my point of view.  I've had falken, federal, nitto, nexen, achilles, zeetex, yokohama and kumho. All on fairly decent stretches.

I am a very strong supporter of them even at 12psi the held a stretch when my wheel was leaking. never had a set blow out. stretch is real nice. i ran 235/35/19 on a 19x10.5 and 245/35/19 on a 19x11.5 with -11.2 camber i basically drive on it. love em.

I have tried quite a few and had good luck with achilles...and great price.
