SWGrinda Build Thread
Well i've been on the low since late 2011 with my build. Bought some LXZ's, then flipped them and got some Discontinued Scaras. Now i'm back full throttle starting with the suspension. This will more than likely be my final build thread and I will keep it updated as I get more parts in and start finalizing my GS build.
First off I wanna give a big thanks to Mike over at Original Garage -- http://ogsincebirth.com/ -- for all his help with my suspension. He's the one who got me my BC Extreme Drop Coils and all of my Battle Version stuff, so if any of you guys are needing either, i'd highly recommend contacting him as he's a great dude to work with and one of the most legit by far.
Secondly i'd like to thank Thomas (speedaddic), James @ Vipdout & Joe (MrExecutive) for all the inspiration they have given me with their builds over the years. I strive to have the #1 VIP GS build in the states, that may be a hard title to grab in everyone elses eyes, but that's what i'm aiming for.
Now enough talk and onto the pics and updates..
-: Q45/TSX Dual Retrofit
-: Philips 6k Flash White D2S Bulbs
-: Morimoto 3Five D2S Ballasts
-: K-Break Light Smoke Headlight/Taillight Overlays
-: BC Extreme Drop Kit 16/14kg
-: Battle Version RUCA
-: Battle Version RLCA
-: Battle Version Toe Links
-: Battle Version Traction Links
-: Figs F/R Sway Bar End Links
-: Intrax Sway Bars F/R
-: New Steering Rack Bushings
The headlights and K-Break Overlays are already on the car, hence why they're not included in the photo.
Anyways.. Started getting the car ready to install everything this weekend. Put the car up on jacks, sprayed down everything on the F/R that will be coming off and got started on the front end of the car tonight.
Me sporting my Sessions t-shirt and new coils. :p
Onto the work pics.. You can kind of see the light smoke overlay in this first picture and second one.
Those are all the real work photos the lady took of me tonight. Basically took off the front sway and passenger side strut then installed one of the BC Coils. Called it a night at that.. I'll update the thread with installation pics as the weekend progresses.

i like seeing lofty goals combined with a solid list of suspension components (as opposed to junction produce pillows and hello kitty charms) excited to see updates on this one, as there have been many great GS builds over the years

I'm just going to let anyone know up front that it would be wise to take out 2-3 days to do a similar install and it would be good to have 1 or 2 other people with you that are knowledgeable on suspension also.
Anyways.. Onto some more pics as I know that's what everyone loves. :D
Before:
After:
I know it's not the same pic, but that was the best I could do to get all of the arms and whatnot in the photo.
A pic of the retro for those who would like to see:
Lastly how the car now sits.. It actually was A LOT lower in the rear than expected. I drove around the neighborhood and no scraping, but I think I may end up raising it about a half an inch. Should be about a month or two before I throw on the wheels, so yeah.
Brian has been working on a JP Grill for me that he bought and then sold to me. It has 2 frames that I can use. I sent him a 98-00 Grille (Thanks MikeFoxx for the grill) to cut out and use the chrome frame on so that I could still have a 'factory' looking Junction Produce Grille along with a color matched frame. The color matched frame will have 202 Onyx on the inside of it like the original JP and then will be 051 PDW on the outer edge that will face out so people can see.
That frame is still in the paint shop though unfortunately so I only have pics of the OEM chrome frame for now. Enjoy.
I have a picture of the colormatched frame. Unfortunately the idiot shop that is doing it can't seem to follow simple instructions. They seem to not care since it's such a small piece. They broke a tab during the process and didn't even prep it like Brian clearly TOLD them to. They also didn't tape it off properly it seems and some 051 ran onto the 202 Onyx Black on the inner part. Anyways, these aren't finished pics as it's going to have to go back to the shop for them to fix their not so professional mistakes. Enjoy.
Probably won't have both of these frames and until mid/end of this month sometime. Sooner than later I am hoping of course though.

Well.. I got in the frame yesterday for the JP Grill (the color matched one) and here are the installed pics of it! Enjoy guys. This will be the last update for a while (maybe until the end of August) i'm going on vacation tomorrow morning for a week and then when I get back it's time to sign back up for classes for school and get going again on the grind. Hopefully I can get more stuff in before the end of the summer, but you guys know how life is. Nothing ever goes according to plan. All I can do is hope for the best that everything goes smooth.

Never did come back and update this thread. Not to much has changed. New retro, JP Type 1 Mufflers. Still waiting on my spare wheel to ship from Sessions USA in Hawaii, so no wheels on yet.

I always appreciate kind words. Thank you sir. Just a kid with a dream of building a proper car. :)
I got a new camera though for Christmas, so gonna detail the car on Sunday and maybe get some amateur shots to post up of the ride! Stay tuned!
