Recently sold my Suzuki Wagon R and picked up this Crown for only 1500USD. Currently on coilovers. Don't remember wheel specs but know I could use a 20mm spacer or new wheels would be best! Probably will be looking for some new wheels this summer. Still have to roll the fenders to get lower but I already scrape in every single entrance in this part of Japan at this height. Sucks...

Thank you! I really want to get lower and the streets around here are non forgiving... Especially coming on the military base where I now work. There is a 2 foot speedbump... Well maybe not that big but I scrape on it at current height.

Been a long time!!! Family is where it's at. They are good. Probably will take this build slow as well. I'm Air Force civilian employee now and looking at sequestration and being furloughed due to budget cuts. It's all good. Will keep going! Hope all is well with you and your family~

I am in Misawa. Work at the base now. I like the small town feel here. Weather sucks. 220 inches of snow a year... I have never been to Okinawa but have some friends in Nara that worked here before. I have a lot of friends in Force Support down there also. Need to get down there to see how some of the programs are run. Maybe this year I will look in to it.

Thanks! Wanted both of those but there are so many in the area. Probably not as many of these since this model is older. Always see newer majesta's around. This is the UJS15.

Yes, frameless doors. It keeps me from doing curtains on the front windows though... I think. I really don't know. There may be a way around it??

I'm more into ocean life too. Came here from Florida... But this is the place to get a decent job because it is remote. I like it here. They do use a lot of salt on the roads. Last year they tried a harder rock salt. What a mess... But I went and had the undercoating put on at the Toyota dealer.

i'm from melbourne beach FL originally myself; hence i love the ocean life. it took us 8 years to be able to move back to okinawa (was previously AF at Kadena) and got a sweet GS civilian gig at Torii Station now and live right on the ocean. yeah i couldn't get over how cheap some cars were in japan myself at first, but down here most of the cheap ones have rust issues so you gotta watch out for that, but if your only paying 1-2k on a car you can't be that picky i suppose ;)
let me know if you ever make it down to okinawa and i'm in for following your mods of the majesta which is deffinitely one of my favorite cars ;)

Love it!! IMO if you just take off the chrome strip around the fenders and made the wheels flusher, the height isn't too bad. Unless you want to go air, then you have to be able to drive the car where you live.

I never even thought about taking off the chrome strips... might look nice. They are on with just screws so I will see how it looks. Specs on the current wheels are 19x8.5J +38 front and 19x9.5J +38 in the rear. Already started looking at some options on upgarage and yahoo auctions, even saw a couple of sets for sale here on the forum!
Thanks for the idea.

Got some work done on the fenders this week. Nothing special, roll and little bit of pull. Changed up the wheel setup. Went a bit lower.
Hopefully pics to come this weekend. Busy weekend planned but will try and break away for full pics soon!

New wheel setup and more low... Having trouble dialing in the front. Have a set of 235/30/19 tires on a 9J front, rubbing during full lock. Gonna try some 215/35/19 tires and hopefully that will help me get a bit lower in front!

Police in Japan don't really bother you if you follow the laws... At least Northern Japan! There are a LOT of speed traps and seat belt traps. They are always driving around with their lights on. Never been bothered though. As a matter of fact, this past Saturday night when I was taking night shots got passed 3 or 4 times and all they did was look over, see the camera and kept going!
Still playing around with the suspension height. Did get new tires, went lower in front. Not anything crazy, 215/35 on 9J and 235/35 on 10J. Nankang NS-II. Need to even rear by 5mm lower. The only thing is now the rear cross member is only 50mm off the ground, which is bad around northern Japan. Thinking about T-Demand rigid member to raise the cross member 20mm to get down another 10mm or so. Lots of photos taken lately.
Few of my favorites:

looking good man. wish i could go lower too, but i rub over every little bump and dip now as it is so i think i have hit my point of diminishing returns; would take much more modding to get just a little big lower now for me. there are two guys that drive that series majesta near me and they each have 18's on the car and the their cars frames are like 1" off the ground static,, not sure how they do it around here, especially since i have to raise my car up just to make it onto their street.

my fav pic by far, i can't get over how cool of a back drop that is and the color shades (i'm fairly colorblind actually) came out very nice. what kind of camera?
i hate to bite someone else's style, but more like appreciating perhaps, but now i'm on the search for a run down ghostly looking walking dead back drop like that. i shall call it "vip horror".
my fav pic by far, i can't get over how cool of a back drop that is and the color shades (i'm fairly colorblind actually) came out very nice. what kind of camera?
i hate to bite someone else's style, but more like appreciating perhaps, but now i'm on the search for a run down ghostly looking walking dead back drop like that. i shall call it "vip horror".
"vip horror" hahaha. Here is another of the whole building. Never put that on facebook. Too long... Was shot with my friends Nikon D500. Definately want to get back there when I get the suspension dialed in! Don't worry, if you find one, use it! LOL
Very nice car man. Def interested in keeping up with this one. I have a 2GS/Aristo ever since I seen Sojah's car when he pulled up to work in it I loved the Crowns. Keep up the good work man.
Thanks man! I think I saw your intro thread. Buddy of mine here has a 2GS Aristo also, trying to get him to a photoshoot... Will hit you up if I ever make it to Okinawa.
