how much is too much?

How much camber is too much camber?  i'm sure this is a completely 
asthetic question,  but would like your input.

anything more than 7-8* starts looking silly IMO.

like that pic of the Legend or Vigor or whatever w/ the HUGE rear wheels cambered to 45*

No doubt 45 deg. of neg camber would look really over the top.  post the pic  or link if ya can... I'd like to see it lol!!

by the way, I'm running coilovers, so what it's set at will be what it's driven at. What would drivablity be like on a 7-8 deg.
camber. obviously rough on tires, but who cares. it'll look purdy.

its more a question of opinion rather than aesthetics.

although, arguably "too much" would probably be at the point where it inhibits the operation of the wheel/suspension/vehicle.

one of my cars has 15 degrees of negative camber, drives fine, tire wear is moderate, steering is quicker, since there is so little contact patch.

on previous cars, i've run more than 15 degrees.  tires wear, but not fast enough to irritate me, having to buy new tires.  handled fine, since most of the camber was in the rear on 13" wide wheels and a 275/35/18 tire.

Asthetically of course it depends on the car.  Going along with that, will it be that much camber parked or at ride height?    I run -4 camber at all times with mine.     VIPlife, is 15 degrees at park or at height?   I think theres a big difference in looks there if its just like that for parking and laying out, or if its like that all the time.

My old q45 had -4.5 front and -8 rear. It was very drivable, handled great and tire wear was decent after I got all of the toe out of it.. which btw is the most important thing to consider when judging tire wear.

Havent experienced major camber like what Viplife has, but i do run 6.5 on my car and the amount of attention it gets is phenomenal. People will ask you why your wheels are crooked, if its meant to be like that etc. 

at 6.5 you have around 60-70% of the tire on the road (225/35 on a 10J), but driveability is fine, seems to grip just as good as before (even tried some emergency braking in the wet and found the fronts (with about 2.5 deg) will start locking up before the rears do).

As for looks, i would go more only if i could do the fronts to match. Y32s (as with Y33s) cant camber much on the front so it starts looking a little unbalanced with so much on the rear and not on the front. 

I actually chose to go this much camber because i like the look. I could pull/stretch the fenders like most "normal" people round here and reduce the camber to normal levels, but i like the quizzitive stares and puddles of water that collect in the lip :)

15 degrees with coilovers.  so effectively 15 at park, and maybe 15-16 while driving.

Thanks for all the input guys,  that will help a lot if my thinkin is correct i
should be able to tuck the rears with about  6-7 deg.  and roll the fronts at 
about 3-4  ( my wheel will hit my strut if it goes any more than that)  hope 
it works   P.S. dont do what i did and do bodywork before you get wheels it'll
make you crazy if its not righton.  i may have to send my wheels back.

A little too much IMO. But i do like the look of camber... For me it is one of the hallmarks of vip... I just prefer around 5-8 degrees

i cant even imagine all of the confused looks youll get from driving with such extreme camber.  lol

The FWD guys in japan who try to get in on the vip game tend to run mass amounts of rear camber, cuz they otherwise can't run as wide/low offset wheels...and cuz those rear wheels are essentially dead and just along for the ride anyway. It's going to be way impractical to drive a rwd car with as much camber in the back as some of the fwd guys are running. That's why you'll often see legends/TLs, diamantes, etc. (and fwd wagons) with the crazy crazy camber in the back
How much is too much? It's all relative.... 
I had an old white woman in an SL600 recently tell me how much she loved the camber on my car. I laughed and told her she had a nice car... she said thanks and then peeled out from the stoplight.
