VIP in training from Tennessee.

Hey guys! My name's Eric and I'm from Memphis TN. I'm just getting started on my VIP route. Currently driving a 98 black on black Y33. I've had it since last October and I'm loving it. 

I've been looking at and trying to learn about VIP for a few years and wanted to go at it, but my previous car, an e46 sedan just wasn't cutting it, so I listed it for sale, and found my current Y33 in New York City on eBay. I bought myself and best friend one way tickets to NYC and we flew to pick the car up. I picked the car up with 68k on the dash and paid 6k for it. 

Since them I've slowly been trying to get stuff together for my build. I've already got wheels/tires, a UAS bags (already on), a table, neck pads, and some various suspension arms. I'm planning on swapping to s13 coilovers/s14 hubs and running my bags on them. So I'm currently in the process of saving for coils. 

What originally got me into VIP was seeing all the crazy camber coming out of the scene. I ran my e46 with almost 10 degrees in the rear and I loved it, so I figured I could do the same on a real VIP platform. It took me a while to decide between a y33 and a UCF21, but I stumbled upon the perfect y33 to buy and jumped on it.

Wheels are 
F: 19x11 -8. 235/35 acceleras
R: 19x12 -8. 275/30 acceleras
Currently only the fronts have tires on. One of the rears had a leak and I had to send it off to get rebuilt.

My original plan was 265/30 on the rears and we got one to air up but it wasn't happening.

welcome and put up some damn pics of the wheels on the car already.

and a 235/35 on an 11" is still pretty impressive in my book too, since i'm only on a 225/35 on a 9.5" F.

Thanks for the welcome guys. All I have is a shot of a rear wheel bolted up without a tire. My other rear should be coming back in tomorrow so I can get the tires mounted finally. Wheels definitely have to wait to go on. I still need coilovers and my fenders rolled. And here's a shot of my old e46, too. Just for credentials. ;)

oh wow im looking forward to this build those wheels look epic talk about throwing yourself in the deep end those are not begineer wheels to get into vip those are hardcore porn wheels! cant wait to see them fitted so you going static?

Jumping in the deep end is the best way. I'm planning on running bags over coils. I've got an old 280z without a title I'm trying to trade for the rest of the suspension stuff I need. Haha. If anyone needs a parts car. ;)

I really appreciate the welcome. It's rather unfortunate, though. I'm having quite a bit of an issue with CZ Wheels right now. They're the company I had purchase/build my wheels for me. I got my leaky rear back yesterday, and some of the bolts aren't even screwed in all the way. I got it BACK from a SECOND REBUILD like that. The first time I received it, it was leaking. I'm currently waiting on a reply from the owner, and I'm hoping he'll pay for me to get a local rebuild because I definitely don't trust him to do it again. This is insane. I've got our whole text conversation in an imgur album ready to go if he doesn't rectify this situation.

The first time I told him it was leaky, he told me to go to lowe's and get some sealant and do it myself. The 2nd time, he told me to just screw the bolts back in myself. It's just insanely unprofessional, and I can't believe I paid him so much money to get wheels that he expects me to do work on myself.

question how much did you pay to get it rebuilt?

The wheels themselves were $2350 and the rebuild was 900 including new lips, but not new barrels.

nice car.  sucks about the wheels but building the wheels is not to hard.

Small update! I finished rebuilding my wheel yesterday. I was really nervous doing it myself and I may have gone a little overboard with the silicone but oh well. Haha. Gonna wait until Monday to try to mount the tire. And i finally got the stretch fixed on my other rear. Pics:

Oh and the wheel with a tire on it hasn't been polished yet haha. I've been lazy about it. Still waiting on my BCs to come in and then hopefully I'll get everything on.
