Toyota Allex, japanese import.

Hey everyone, firstly, some of you got absolutely stunning cars here

secondly, i can't really say my car is VIP, yet it does have some hints of it, its an import RHD toyota Allex (equivalent to corolla in europe and US) so far i have given it relatively cheap/try out mods to see the direction i'll be taking it through.

spec list:
-4x5" component speakers alpine type S
-1x15" crossfire db3 subwoofer
-1xGround Zero amplifier
-1x7" monitor
-Pioneer headunit mp3/wma/cd
-Playstation 2 Slim in the glove box
-exhaust muffler
-17" FTK alloy rims with polished deep dish lip
-lexus style lights (i know these look hideous, but i got them for free from a mate, an back then i thought they worked well with chrom door handles and polished lip of the rims)(don't worry they will be goin off this summer)
-hybrid volt meter gauge

-sub box came with sub from crossfire, so if they are ghetto then yeh.
-what should PS2 do, stand there? if you mean its messy then i know, i'll do a rack for it.
-muffler looks bigger then it is in pictures, in real life it actualy is much smaller then all the hondas ones around where im from.
-so its wrong to have independent tv? ok then.

P.S. please read my first post again where i said its all cheap/try out modifications, which means i'd like to learn what would look good and what wouldn't and perhaps get some critisism and comments on how to improve, rather then simply get "rice?" and etc.

Weird name for a car...hehe Allex!

But it can take some styling cues from the Vitz since it almost look the same.

Don't sweat it, somebody has to start somewhere. Lots of Kei car mags out there for you to look at and get some ideas.

Good Luck.

Enh, it's got some nice bits, but I don't like the wheels. But that's an easy fix, so no worries.
I think your next priority aside from cleaning up the existing mods would be to drop that thang...

Thanks for the positive replies guys, its much appreciated. The problem with car being messy is that im currently in the university in UK and my car is back home in Cyprus so i can't work on it at my will, i had for a short time so everything was put together in a sort of a rush.

My first on the list things will be taking care of the messy stuff, im thinking to build a fiberglass stand for ps2 in the glove box, the voltmeter was already relocated to the pillar and is not half as mesy, looks actualy quite neat also i got myself a new one with dial matching the speedo and rev meter dials, im also thinking to place it into a fiberglass pod instead of the chrome gauge case.

My other plans for this upcoming summer are:
- clean up the mess
- to lower the car as much as the law allows (cyprus laws are extremely strict
on modifying)
- remove the back lights for the original (smoked) jdm lights
- building a custom sub box (i want to make it horizontal and slim so it feels the whole boot and the sub will stick outof the middle, so it would look cleaner)
- possibly HIDs

P.S. guys i realise its not a VIP car, but as i said before and say it again im not done with it, its just the begining.

Cool, it's always unfortunate when your mods are limited by strict laws

I think you have a great platform to start with. If it were my car this is what I would personally do.

1. Take out the gauges in the car to give it a classy yet subtle interior appearance. The gauges are really doing nothing, but attracting attention, and saying "hey steal my goods"!

2. Space out the front and rear wheels to get them as flush as possible. If you can push them out further than the the inner fender lip, and camber negatively if possible, do it. I am not familiar with the setup of the rear suspension in that car but I am sure you can adjust camber somewhat with the stock settings.

3. SLAM IT! Laws are laws, and they are strict here in the states also. I guess you have to pay to play if you ask me. Ride height can do so much for a car, and I think if you space the wheels out and slam it on the ground (or at least a no finger gap between the fender and the tire) it will look 100% better.

4. Toss the exhaust and revert back to stock or possibly a subtle tip to match up with your existing chrome accents. Possibly a single or daul tipped exhaust would look quite nice, but be sure it is tucked close to the rear bumper, and not dangling low.

5. Do not worry about the sound system for now. Who cares if the box is ugly or the PS2 is thrown in the glovebox. Focus on what people can see rather than what makes look good interior wise. I would just not pop the hatch or open the glovebox and call it good!

6. Even out the tint. I am not a fan of a black car with blacked out tint, and if you are going to tint a black car be sure that it is the same % front and back, even if it is against the law. It looks as though in the pictures there is quite a difference in tint percentages, which really kills the look. If you are dead set on having it tinted, either lighten up the back windows or darken up the front. Black cars look great with a slight blue tint or green tint. NOT MIRROR TINT! Only a slight color shading of green or blue, as found on newer Mercedes. I think a guy on here was selling some green tint if you are interested.

7. Finally if you are not going to put a body kit on your car, I would try to upsize the wheel to an 18" wheel. With a 17" wheel you will need to slam your car with no kit to give it the aggressive stance. With an 18" wheel you will have a bit more wheel to fill up the gap, letting you not lower it as much, but still have a clean bold stance.

I hope this helps a bit, and good luck with the build.

word of advice

ditch the slim PS2 and get an old school one

YOu can put it underneath a seat, and you can still access the tray when it slides out.
I always have one or two big ones around just for htat

heres 2 cars you can take some styling ques from. IMO get some work euroline DH, and get the most aggressive offset you can fit on that car, pit some stretch on the tires, and slam that thing to the ground. and take off all the mods you currently have on, just my 2 cents

Your off to a good start, I know how it feels to have the mods trickle in slowly. If I were you Id ditch the ps2 for a super nes, thats what im going to put in my car  way better system imo.
