new chapter of my life.

for those wondering why i havnt posted here in awhile, its because ive been so busy at Art Center College of Design as a transportation design major. i only average about 3 and a half hours of sleep some weeks, and am no stranger to fatigue and stress now. plenty of design celebrities here...just last week i saw chip foose chilling with his buddies next to the modeling shop. anyways, thats that. any other trans kids here?

art center is pretty well known for its horror stories. exp: kids getting nose bleeds from stress, kids getting sick (sometimes cancer spots) from inhaling to much spray or matte fixative, extreme forms of sleep deprivation, kids locking themselves in their own rooms for a weeks period to get work done. one of my colleagues didnt sleep for three days in a row and i dont know how he lived through that. tell you the truth i dont function with 3.5 hrs of sleep, cause i get delirious. at 5 in the morning i saw spiders the size of my hand running across my foot. the next day i fell asleep in class, not at my seat but on linoleum floor which happened to feel like clouds cause i was that tired! the guy right next to me did the same and snored like a baby.

there's 168 hours in a week, and you sleep 3.5 hours? maybe i don't know enough about the art center college of design, but that doesn't seem likely. but if you say so...

I hear ya. When I was in school for computer animation I didn't get much sleep either. My longest stint was 51 hrs straight, trying to get my senior thesis film done.

Now I have a job that mandates 100+ hrs a week w/ no days off. :(

Trust me, driving yourself into the ground physically and pushing yourself to the mental limits is just not worth it. You will pay for it in the long run; say 5-10 yrs of your projected lifespan going bye bye. Or worse, heart attack, stroke, psychological breakdown, etc.

If you truly love what you are doing/creating then more power to you. You have my respect and envy. Passion (love/hate) and sheer will power are the only things that will pull you through.
