Finally after all these years I am making a thread for myself (DPK David/LS430/UCF30)

A little bit about myself for those that do not know. I am really a Honda guy but have been into the VIP scene for years. I had a 2GS that I purchased about 8 years ago and I was planning on building that, will due to my Honda addiction I got as far as repainting the car and that was it. I decided after years of dailying that I would get a new platform and I promised myself I would do something to this one. Nothing crazy just a clean daily. I picked up a LS430 and this is what I have.

Then I took the car to My buddy at Function Form and they test fitted their new suspension on my car. Here is the first pic I took of the car with the new suspension on.

Then after a long 8 month wait I finally got my wheels in. I decided to go with Leon Hardirritt Ordens. Common wheel but for me it will always be a classic, since I am not doing anything crazy to this car I do not mind if it does not look different.

Well I ordered what I thought was going to be conservative offsets, 20x9.5 +26 20x10.5+25.

This is how the rear fit.

Then after a drive into DTLA this happened after hitting a hard bump. The next day I hit a pot hole and the same happened to the other side.

Normally I would be pretty upset and bothered that I would have to take my car to a body shop to get fixed because I hate dealing with body shops. Well luckily I recently have become acquainted with a body shop called Premier Auto Body and they do wonderful work so I put my trust in them to do my work. 


Here are some pictures I was sent of the progress.  This is all before paint just body work. My car is currently there and I am hoping to get it back in time for The Chronicles YearV meet as well as The AutoFashion VIP Festival.

As you can see the wheel can now tuck in with out hitting my 1/4.

Here is the front side and you can see that from that door the 1/4 does not look pushed out too far.

As you can see there are no body lines missing, the 1/4's look like oem still not like they have had a flare added to them all while being wide enough to clear my wheels with natural camber.

yeah I was saying that I got these and thats why I didnt get the wheels you bought. I still want to go for a ride in your car and see what the suspension feels like.

For sure...I think you will like the ride a lot...rides amazing with the swift. I still gotta move a few clicks up or down to dial it in but seems good so far. From your pics of your rear quarters Im wondering if the spring rate was too soft...dont think the rim should have hit like that unless you didnt file down the inner fender. Well compare for sure though.

you should have them weld or bond the inner/outer fender back together. that will restore the structural integrity so it doesn't happen again and make it easier to metal work pre-paint. i've seen shaved cars have this problem over and over. take advantage of the respay and get it right while you can.

Thats why I roll fenders and not cut. When cut, they bend far too easily. Good choice in parts so far though.

LS rear quarters are very thick and most rollers have a hard time pushing against it. plus they almost always dimple and buckle since the metal is soft at certain points than others. if you plan on doing body work, then i can see rolling as an option but cutting is the fastest way to get clearance, maintain the stock body lines (which the OP wanted), with no extra body work.

My guy is amazing, he would just do that just because anyway so he has it all covered. You are right though it is a issue.

Yes what Timmy said. Either way the end result is exactly what I wanted but was just to scared to do and now I had to so I am happy I did.

You got that right haha.  Been under the knife for almost 5 months, but it is going to come out just as I expected.  Completion should be mid Dec.

a small update on my car. 


So I gave in and decided to go with air. I acquired a AirRex set up and went from there. I took some time to put this together as I decided to do a custom install however it was not going to be your typical flashy show ready install however it would be some what clean and more of a reliable set up for daily use.

for my trunk set up I was just going to mount everything on a board and do some custom wiring (since I work at Rywire) and some simple hard lines.

here you can see the beginning of the wiring. Concentric twisting going on here thanks to my man Der.

fast forward a bit and here is the final product before it went in the trunk. My friend Aaron from Ballade sports did the hard lines and pretty much helped with the entire install.

one thing I was worried about was the front cambering in a little more to match the rear. I do not like super aggressive camber however I do like some camber and I like it to match from front to back. Future plans are to get some arms to fix the caster issues on these cars since that is preventing me from driving as low as i would like. At that point I will also get the camber pretty even front to rear.

I actually capped it. Since its to high I didnt see that working well. Both water catches can drain and I figured ill just have to manually drain the tank myself periodically.

yeah people are telling me there is no drain at the bottom where it is suppose to be....strange I never have an issue with other brand tanks.
