Wassup everyone.I have a 94 gs300 and I want to clear out the lines inside of the headlight lens.does anyone know how its done.and you guys got pics of before and after cleared headlights.thanks!
i wanna know how to this mod too, because my amber reflector just fell off on my passenger sides headlight. its just laying inside. do you guys throw it in the oven or would it be much easier for a heat gun? and what sealer do you guys use? thanks
you have to heat it in an oven, then the seal will loosen up then you just pull it apart. but i dont know what sealer to use though
Just don't heat it up too long in the oven or you will melt and damage the actual headlight housing.
you can leave a headlight in the oven all day if you want ,just dont put the temp past 200 degrees. you shoulnt have to seal it back with anything . definetly do not use silicone.
if you dont want to put your headlight in your oven use a variable temp heat gun. just dont keep the heat on one spot too long depending how hot you got the rheostat set at. i did my headlights using a heat gun because i dont want any food tasting like my car. for sealing the headlights back together i used the same type of sealant used for windows n such..not sure what is was exactly called but it did the job (found it at home depot).
iv done a few set headlights myself by putting it in the oven at about 215 degrees. Leave it in for about 10mins then u just take them out and pull them apart. I also taped the end of a flat head screwdriver and used it to help open it up a little easier...I didnt use any sealer to put it back together but i would recommend it cus iv heard of other peoples foging up over time.
I hope this aint to late but some headlights have different glue! Becarefull if its black then you might need to find another option than the oven, but to my experience if its grey then it can be heated up. Now Im not sure of the GS300 but my "LINCOLN" LS and some others have different glues for example one car the same year, a buddy of mine had the grey stuff and the job went well, but I have the black stuff and I had to actually dremel some stuff out and seal it with the same type glue. Another example was a friend with a FD Rx-7 had the grey stuff that we put in the oven on his rear lights but someone told us to becarefull, for the same went for this car as well. Some had the grey stuff and some had the black stuff.

dude i just did my stockheadlights on my q y33 and it was a bitch taking them apart. i put em in the oven 200 degrees for about 10 minutes and only got one end open of the headlight. i just slid out the amber reflector and sealed it back up with silicone sealer i bought from home depot. i havent had any moisture issues or leaks yet. everything looks good but the i dont like the look of the sealer, it looks too messy and noticeable. these are just temporary until i get the real clear cima headlights, ill post pics later
DaygoVip619. I want to do the same with my Y33. Do you have to remove the front bumper to pull the lights? FYI I believe you can put the light back in the oven after removeing the lense, and press the lense on the old seal without having to buy new?!?! In HondaTuning (April07) They removed a headlight from a RL and pressed it back on the original seal. Cant find a link to it tho.
Has anyone here opened and cleaned the headlights on a LS430? I've noticed that a vast majority of them out there are fogging up...including mines...

In HondaTuning (April07) They removed a headlight from a RL and pressed it back on the original seal. Cant find a link to it tho.

Cant find a link to it tho.[/QUOTE] no need for removing your stock bumper. just simply unscrew the top mounting bolt and two more small ones behind each headlight. make sure you un plug both bulbs behind as well. and carefully remove the headlight without scratching your fender. i had to take off my stock air filter cover and radiator cover to reach behind the drivers side headlight. :thumbsup:
