If they had any type of legal grounds to stop this they would but as anyone in the industry will tell you, the difference between legal knockoff and blatant illegal is millimeters...... and believe me it sucks. I don't want any cheap fool on the street having anything that even resembles what I worked hard to find overseas for a grip!
Well didn't Moven have to take a few designs out of the market ? I believe they took off a Lorinser knock off and some other designs.
If Work does not have a US patent then they do not have a valid argument within a US court.
And I think most "copy cat" wheel companies change something in the wheel design even if it's a small change, that way it is not a complete copy of a certain wheel. Remember back in the 80's? The "hammer" style wheels?

Well, the offset sucks, so I'm not worried about those ones.
I think I would be rich in a year if I knew how to offer Hammers in plus sizes and deep dishes in sizes 20 an up...and thats real talk!!
when the crap wheel company's wheels break, work has plenty of time to sit there and bash on the company and to promote their original, better, quality wheel.
What about Vienna Dish, and Euroline DH....or, MAE Jewel and Euroline N?
Well the Euroline N couldnt be brought to the North America market, so I guess MAE won out on that (even though it was an agreement I guess). Hell the Euroline N, MAE Jewel, and Vienna Kreis all look the same!
I think wheels are a very hard market to take any legal actions against manufacturers that produce similar wheels.
Only a few minor changes have to be made to a design really in order to clear the company of legal pursuits. Wheels have been being "cloned/copied" for years. It's far from new, just many of you are noticing it more now since it effects something you're into.
Well, imitation/replication has been going on for years, and even the bigger corporations that produce decent wheels, are suspect of it. Ever wonder how the Ewing Mesh's look a lot like the EX-C Supermesh's from SSR?
