My xB build

Never really got into modding until the last few years. I have had some pretty crappy cars until this one. After being part of Scikotics and cruising the internet my life has been changed for the better. I have made friends here in OK while my wife is grad schooling that will prolly be for life and I now work at a dealership which comes with the amazing perk of having a garage with tools, lifts, alignment rack, and a wash bay. Who could ask for more?

I bought my 2005 Scion xB in 2007 and it had 60k on it. That was while I lived in Iowa. Don't think I have any pics from then, but it was all stock with the exception of the oem upgrade 7 spoke wheels.

Didn't do a lot to it in Iowa as I was still paying it off and was worried about the handling in snow and ice. Again I also didn't know about the range of customization to vehicles like these daily driven as that was mostly done to classic cars that were garaged all winter up there. I did clear my headlights, got the oem fogs installed, put in a Pioneer head unit, and shaved the rear emblems. That was about it for a few years.

Moved to Oklahoma for the wife to go to grad school. Started going to car shows and getting ideas. Picked up some tyc tails.

Had an accident at the dealership I was working at - was a windy day and a hood got picked up in the wind and the corner was smashed into my hatch. Turned out to be a blessing because while the body shop had the car I had some interior pieces painted to match the body and shaved the rear wiper. Then took it on a trip from OK to OR. Was a blast.

Got some kicker bumps, door rods, new fig grills, and started getting some recognition - read trophies. Still hadn't heard of VIP but found this site shortly after.

Started getting more into the community and reading up on builds. Found Shabby's "lil' limo" and found this site. I also took a page from his book and cut up my auto shifter to look more like a manual shifter. First started with an overside bubble shifter that didn't fit quite right and settled on this momo one found on eBay. Picked up some 18's from a local club mate put tires on them and started modding a oem replacement grill (filling in the center hole) and picked up a xB hood bra.

Recently picked up some carbon fiber mirror covers and a roof rack.

Also picked up some jp curtains. No pic at the moment but will have some at the next update.

Already thinking about trading the cf for chrome and powdercoating my wheels. The black looks good but want to make a pop without being too flashy. What color do you guys think I should go with. Slowly wanting to move to VIP style. Cannot lower further yet as I don't know where I will be after my wife graduates. Here's a couple pics of the wheels.

Lemme know what you guys think.

I'm sure you've all seen them, but pics of the curtains purchased from this forum. Happy with them.

Has potential, but when does the VIP style come into play?

IMO it's really clean, but from my understanding VIP builds have a presence that grasps the spectators attention.

I was expecting something towards this route...

not trying to be a dick, but to extend on this, please don't say a) pillows, b) fusa/tsuna, or c) curtains. accessories do not make a car vip.

Not a lot going on in the winter but getting close to selling my 18's. Looking at getting some 16's maybe 17's but definitely going to do my homework and not just buy the first cheapest thing like I did the last time. As far as the VIP coming in, it will be a slow process as I have a very limited budget and this is my daily. Looking at getting more chrome for the exterior. Can't do the body kit or air until I know where my wife is getting a job. Looking to get some of the accessories as stated above but only as time and money allows.

Coil overs or bags dude. And ditch the wheels.
Other than that, love the color.

Yeah, I was expecting somewhere along this too. Also, take off that roof rack if it's not being used for what it is for. You got a long way to go my friend, as said above. Build the car, don't accessorize it.
