i cannot believe people are still talking about this car!

its both flattering and embarrassing...

anyway, after reading your post i thought i would look around and see if i could find out the status of the car, and WOW, what an interesting string of events!!

let me share my history, and then tell you what i found out about the car today...

i was the first owner to modify the car. i got the car from a guy in sf, who had gotten it as payment for some money his friend owed him. i dumped thousands into getting into good/running mechanical condition (engine wise). i bought a body kit from japan, 18" wheels that were 12" and 13" wide, cut up the inner fenders, installed the wheels, and air suspension (cans), and it looked about like this:

then i bought some 19" weds rapiers with enormous lips, even bigger than the old wheels... i flared the body even more, and switched out the cans for air bags over coilovers. at this point the car was ridiculous. i had other cars that i was working on, and this one was sitting in the driveway collecting dust... with exception of an occasional trip to ryowa, or tower : )

during this time i met my now-wife. things were getting serious and it was time to evacuate. i had sold off a bunch of cars, and was selling parts now. i sold the weds to a friend, reinstalled the 18s and decided to sell the car.

i sold the car for i think around 3500 to a friend-of-a-friend. he didnt have any money and i needed the car gone. i was moving! i let him take the car and pay me "whenever," within reason. he never paid... but took the loyalty on working on the car while it was in his possession. at this point the car took its first real direction change. the flared part of the fender had been removed in hopes of attaching a newly shaped metal fender, and the side skirts were also being remade, and door caps designed [which was my next plan for the car...]. months passed and i had moved out of state already.

i wasnt getting any money for my car, so the seller returned the car. since i was away a friend was nice enough to let me store it at his shop, while people wrote silly messages on it, and it was used as a table and couch.

finally i found a buyer for the car. i think i sold it for less than 2000 with everything on it. at this point, it was a problem [for me]. friends were very helpful, and considerate in helping me manage this transaction from a far, which i am still grateful for.

the car finally sold to a young kid in the area. i THINK he was planning on juicing it. but, nothing really happened to it. so he sold it to the next guy.

this is the guy who has posted pictures of the car all over the internet and managed to list a different wheel size and offset each time he describes the wheels. his claim is junction produce flares, and being insanely low... so low he has to drive to shows [or anywhere] with the front bumper poking out the rear window, because the front bumper was too tall to drive with static suspension! im not hating. and many say he did more than i did with the car, being that it was more presentable with a paint job [something i never had]. regardless, here it is:

so this guy has been trying to sell it for a while now. he even offered a free paint job in your color choice if you buy the car.

its been ridiculed on many a forum...

anyway the latest news is that he drove it someplace and the rear wheel stud fell off and the engine stopped! luckily he reported that it started back up and is working fine now... uh oh.

anyway, the NEWEST of news is that HE SOLD the car!

it was sold to a girl names lisa in arizona!!!!!! crazy.

here's what she had to say about her new car purchase.

It was crazy of me to drive all the way to San Jose from Az by myself but I say it was worth it. I paid more than $40! Way more. If I didn't get lost in LA on the way back I would have saved some miles and gas. Roundtrip was almost 1500mi. This is the 2nd time I did something like this and I told myself I won't do it anymore. Ha!

Love the car but it will take more than fixing the wheel studs to get it on the road. I named her Abiona'Q... "Born on a journey".

Thanks Van for everything. It was a pleasure. Next time you're in Az... send me a txt or call and we shall do some partying!

I actually really dig the top photo of the missmatched color kit. Looks like it
WAS off to a good start. Hopefully she will do right by it and take it back in that direction if possible.

wow what a story.

It is a shame that the car was ruined with the ugly ass flares.. it looked 10 times hotter unpainted.

Those 19" weds rapiers were straight up insane. What are they on now?

It was so nice before it was bastardized. I pray she fixes that problem. Poor viplife always having to sell cars. But for others of us..I think it works out okay.

Yah, we ripped it a new one on Ziptied.
