When does the line gets crossed between Luxury Sport & VIP?

I been wondering when do you cross the line between VIP and Luxuy Sport... Since I own a 1st Gen GS300, I have been wondering about this. Is there such a thing as Sport VIP? Does an agressive kit or a set of sporty wheels set the line?

I like most of the VIP accessories you can add to your car like the pillar lights, the badges, mirrors, carpet, custom dashes and interior lightning, but my taste for wheels and my aero kit taste differs with a lot of my friends that like/own VIP styled cars  saying that is way to sporty... that's why I want to know if there is such a term as VIP Sport or is it just Luxury Sport:smiley:

do you really have to categorize your style that you like? who cares?! customize it how you like it and forget what others say. if anything just call it vip style

haha, yeah, i know. is just that i wanted to know if there are people that want a sporty look yet keep the car style vip....

I see what your saying.  I kinda have that  VIP style Sporty look to my car I think.  With my car, I just choose a VIP style stance and a kit that is the same.  The rest of the car is just sporty looking.  I think cars like Falkens black FD and S13 are along those lines of Sporty VIP style.  They both have a VIP style stance and the color is right but everything else is sporty.

I understand, and generally support your sentiment. 

Well, there are some aspects of VIP that are generally unfeasible for Luxury Sport Sedans. I respect both for what they are, and for what they represent. However, the tire stretch isn't really a good idea for a sporty car; it provides a smaller contact patch and less traction. The same goes for the insane negative camber and the slammed look. I mean, when you're setting up a competent suspension, you need some sense of shock travel to make sure that your car stays in contact with the road. 

Do I think sporty cars can be VIP inspired? Yes. However, to go full VIP, IMO, you'll be sacrificing performance. A good balance of the two, well, I think, might be the wave of the future.

New styles are great, but don't call them something they're not. Instead, just be happy because Hurray! you've created something unique.

You see, nobody said that the car was actually VIP. There was no need to jump down anyone's throat about it. "Destroying the VIP culture" is a fairly strong indictment. We made the distinction that it wouldn't be VIP, but it also wouldn't be pure tuner/sport.

Isn't VIP about style? I mean, theoretically, if I were to be driving a 2JZTT GS3/Aristo on Tein Flex w/ EDFC, corner weight my car, and set it up to actually handle.....and then do a full JP kit, pull the fenders, throw on some 19x11 +12 Scaras (I made up a random really low offset), and have the "low and wide" stance, would that not be VIPSport? It's got all the true, genuine sportiness of a legitimate tuner car, but all the style of a VIP car...  Just postulating here.


EDIT: To the OP. I just reread your post. I would, personally, draw the line at an aggressive kit or sporty wheels. The best test, I think, is....could you see a Yakuza boss driving it? Aggressive kits, really and honestly aren't VIP.

The Vertex kit, in and of itself, could be VIP. It has good lines and isn't too aggressive. The front canards have to go. Taniguchi has decent stance on his drift car too, maybe in need of a little more offset. Hell, I think I even see a little bit of flaring at the rear fender. This car, in a solid color, some non drifter wheels, even maintaining this stance (more offset!!), could def. take VIP in my book. I've said it before, but certain things can make or break your car. Too aggressive kit, too sporty wheels....... yeah. I misunderstood your original post, for that I apologize.

their is a thing called GT-VIP.... its vip and sporty all mixed together.... here are some examples..

I would love to see NOB's GS without the splitter and stickers. I actually like the wheels a lot with that stance, I considered a similar style for my own car

I love that GS so much. But I'd definitely put it on the Vip side of things.

You know what, I rescind my previous statement about adjusting the stance. That does look good. Quite good. But it also bolsters what I said. Wheels can make or break your VIP look.

EDIT: Oh, and I deferred to the Yakuza thing because, well, isn't that the root of VIP? He asked about aggressive aero kits. I can't see a Yakuza boss rocking an Esprit, ABFlug, or LA Club kit on his Aristo.

Here's my car. What are steps to complete this to VIP status? I presume the air suspension, but what else?

JP grill, better fitting wheels & maybe style (HRE just don't really suit VIP cars to me, at least their styles anyhow), yes air, lose the chicken wire in the grill...that would be a start.

I have to disagree somewhat with this statement. Reason being I don't know any Yakuza (lol), but there are TONS of rides out there that are wilder-styled, with huge widebody fenders, ridiculous camber, oversized custom body work, etc. that are 100% VIP. I guess it all comes down to an individual's definition of "aggressive"
