Alarm on a Lexus?

For the Lexus owners here, I'm just curious if anyone here has an alarm system installed in their car? If so, what type?

you mean aftermarket ones?

never seen anyone with it. I guess you're going to lose the proximity key recognition if you possibly install one.

my friend has an autopage (cheapy brand) alarm on his IS300, other friend wanted to go with compustar (quoted 650) for his sc300. the IS300 one was kinda shadily put in, and it works kind of funky. for some reason, they didnt bother disabling his factory alarm, it's pretty confusing.

i had installed on a 1st gen gs300 was a python with remote start but was along time ago

We have done quite a few alarms/remote starts on the new Lexus and BMW's that dont use keys and/or have factory alarms.

With DEI and their products, integration only takes a little extra time and know how. Just because it has a Lexus badge doesnt mean you should be afraid of its wiring ;)

Be prepared to pay the extra labor it takes, specially if you have a newer 'keyless' model.

I've realized that getting toys for my car is going to be expensive after I put in over $10K in it within a few days of purchasing it...this is one expensive but fun hobby!

hi, i am a newbie here, but i just wanted to let you know that you can put in an aftermarket alarm in a lexus. i have a new clifford 50.5 with twindows and remote start, but like how everyone says be prepared to pay a little extra because its not as simple as some other cars. especially the twindows, the installer has to wire each and every window separetely, also the trunk has to be the same if you want remote trunk release. well have fun.:smiley:

What is this twindow youre talking about?

It adds one-touch up/down and window control from the remote.

I am a new-b here. I have an IS300 with an aftermarket alarm with the factory alarm still active. I still dont know why they didnt disable the factory alarm. I now use my spare key w/o the alarm fob on it. 
I have the Clifford Advant Guard 5 with all the extras that you can do with the alarm including the windows and remote start. They couldnt do the sunroof due to the factory ECU. 
Almost went with the remote gas lid opener. Then I thought that was a little gay. So I decided to run the trunk release instead. They had to mod the trunk lid interior panel, so that I can still take off the panel and get to my license and drive light bulbs.
It wasnt cheap and they had to have my car for 2 days. Its the best alarm that money can buy. Ive been using Advant Guard 4 and 5 for the last 10yrs. And havent been disappointed with it since.
Just my opinion and yes you can put an aftermarket alarm on just about any vehicle out there. If you have the $$$$ and patience.
