97->99 Y33 climate control swap

Anyone know if the 99 Q45 climate control is plug and play into the 97-98 models?

I believe so.

I once asked about it and a guy who had completed it said the clock (analog) had to be rewired. I thank thats it.

Why did they take the analog clock away from the 97's anyways?

it's definitely high on my to-do list.  I'll post up my results when I get around to finding the parts

So did you have to move over 1 of the switches, either the dimmer or auto headlamp adjuster switch? I thought about doing it, but I kind of like the wood I have, and I thought the 99+ looks better on black interior.

I thought about that too either 00-01 with wood steering wheels, but 
changing out the trunk lit, taillight and painting is more headache....lol

Don't have to move anything. Just plug the dimmer only. 
Rear shade and auto headlamp are not used. 
I would pull out the control panel cover and the top vent to paint to match the interior. I painted my center vent black from wood finish because I didn't like the way the vent was sitting on top of black panel and I did,t want to spend $200.00 just a vent from the dealer. Vent cover pops off but dealer only sell them complete.

The only other reason I haven't switched to the analog clock is because my flip-out in-dash monitor blocks my clock anyway.

I have been wanting to do this to and add a JP analog clock..I know some of you like the wood grain that the 97 has but they do sell a factory match wood kit that would cover the black, but it would be more mula but would complete the project..IT really sucks because When I bought my REal Wood wood kit to complament the rest of the stock wood grain, I had that peace and I sold it on ebay before I ever new about VIP Style.. To bad I did other wise I would have allready done this..I like it and it is alot cheaper than buying a new model..Besides the newer models trunk is just hidious. They made changes where changes werent needed..Pesonally I think the rear of the 97-98 look so much better. It is almost like the 97-01 models are missing a tail light..hahaha.

I feel the same way, the 97-98 lights flow much better.  I wouldn't mind a set of 99 touring headlights though.  I got a decent deal on a 70k mile 97 so I can afford to spend a few hundred on some updates.  HIDs, tint, wheels, coilovers + camber/toe arms, 99+ climate control, painted rockers are my first planned mods, in that order
