WHAT DO YOU GUYS KNOW ABOUT D2'S COILOVERS

well i want to get my coilovers for my GS and i was gonna go with the TEIN CS and i got quoted at 1400.00 ( i dont know if that a good price or not that was just the first place i checked) but i was also quoted 950.00 for d2's and i have them on my civic and they are nice but i was wondering how they'd do on my Gs

I dont know anyone with the D2 coil overs, but it looks like a decent set-up. I was looking into the TEIN CS's for my GS too. I ran the Apexi World Sport coilovers on my accord and they were great, so naturally the Apexi N1's for the GS caught my eye too...

I have the D2's on my SC300. I've grown out of the "race car" feel of the ride. After riding in my friend's GS and his supra w/ TEIN CS, i def wish i got those. D2's are great for the money, but i'd just spring for the CS's.

My friend had good luck on his 240 with them. He had them on the track and abused em pretty good too so they should take some abuse. gonna be to stiff for a "luxurious" ride.

WHAT DO YOU GUYS THIN ABOUT TEIN SS..... i looked on the site and it has like a 3 inch drop max where the CS has like a 1.9 inch max..... and i want to go pretty low 

i thought d2 was 32 way adjustable..
with a threaded shock body...

if thats the case, u should have full travel even when its slammed..
that's gotta be a better ride than bump stops on factory length shocks?

If all you're looking for is to go low, then either will suffice. Between the two I would go with the Tien's for the simple fact that they are rebuildable, so if you do need them fixed, you can get them fixed as apposed to replacing them. I don't think that the D2's allow for that. Also, the Tiens are a little more "streetable" (whatever that means to you) I think and most likely if you didn't like the spring rate (too stiff, to soft) you could order a different rate spring to suit. What you are paying for in any coilover is adjustability. So consider that most seriously when you look to buy.

It seems to me that with one more paycheck though, you are looking at a better range of coilover. Or perhaps some air bags.... Just thought I'd throw that out there.

the truth is the money does not matter ill pay the extra i just want to ride as low as possible and as smooth as possible 

If you are looking for the smoothest possible ride, I would look more toward air suspension. Coilovers are more racy and thus usually more of a rough ride. They come with more progressive stiffer rates usually and are often considered for the hardcore. 

i used to have tein flex and they rode pretty good. i was also pretty low. i was tuckin tire with my 19's. but eventually went with air runner

any pics....???? i want to tuck 20x9 fr and 20x10 rear 

tein's "rebuild" is a flatrate repair..
they don't sell shocks seperate.. they charge u a flatrate, and
additional costs if it becomes necessary(where warranty dont cover).

they wanted 75 bucks a shock..

as for d2.. they claim to have a 1 year warranty...
and they will fix the problem.. i dunno if thats a replacement or a repair warranty,
but i saw a set of their coilovers in person, and i was impressed with the quality/build..
BUT, on their website, some of the shots(pics) looks like the damn things shitty..
anodized all cheesy.. so im getting a mixed signal.

You get what you pay for.. D2s are cheap because they are inherently cheaper in quality than more expensive coilovers. The reason they're like 32way adjustable...? That's not a good thing, it's because they use the same internals across the board, regardless of what car the dampers are going in, so they need to provide a large range of adjustment so that the same unit can be used in a Civic, or a Lexus... not totally shitty maneuver, as it cuts down on cost... question is, do you want to buy a set of coilovers made with compromise as one of its main design objectives? If you don't really care, then go for it, but don't expect anything special. 

well ive actually decided to go with gravity susp. dont know to much about it but i know that i can go as low as i want and it rides pretty well
