Definitely not feeling it...

looks much more attractive to my eye with the lights on, if you could recess it further back so its less noticible during the day I think that would be the way to go.

Nope.

i think the lights themselves are too round or something,  compared to the square angles on the car.

^^^maybe if the flat side was towards the solid part of the bumper and the rounded side towards the grill part (flipped lol)
