#5063511994 Crown Royal Saloon -- 4th car...
So 4 years ago my buddy had a auto-broker friend trying to find him a nice appropriately priced Lexus, this went on for a couple years prior.I said to him fck that guy, he's never coming through, and I took him to our local RHD importer in Toronto.
where he found this Crown Royal Saloon - 1994 w/40,000km

Nicest car on the lot that day, so he bought it.
Fast forward 4 years, and he decided to sell it. I always told him I would take it off his hands when the time came, as he is a true steward of an owner. So I grabbed it for a little less than $3K CAD, needs brakes/tires, 96,000km, so good deal.
This car is currently sitting outside my shop as we are out of space until spring;
1987 Toyota Supra - full resto (+full parts car) - resto-mod - 1JZGTE
1997 Nissan 240sx - waiting for tranny swap - resto - light - Grip/street car
1987 Chev Monte Carlo - immaculate - in storage for a buddy...
other shop (storage)
1995 Infiniti Q45 - last winter beater....
1993 Nissan 240sx Convertible ---- these two will turn into the next project after my supra leaves...
So yeah, Back to the Crown, I couldn't let my buddy sell it to someone who didn't have a clue what it was or why its cool, so I had to buy it.
I was a bad boy and I have another couple months (8) before I can get back to normal people insurance, so it'll sit until I can get my specialty/collector insurance for it.
Short term plans;
-Brakes need to be ordered through the original importer as toyota isn't much help with grey market cars. $1200 - discs/pads - 4 corners
-I'lll probably order the TRD 1.5 way LSD for this as its a one wheel peeler, at the same time -$900 list
-Don't like those wheels much, but intend on using this as a winter beater/summer 5 seater so Supra swablades are off to the shop
i think this is 5X114.3 but need to measure still, center bore is huge on the stock wheels. - machining/powder/toyo's - $900
-I have an extra R154 - 5-speed kicking around, so it'll likely end up in this Crown (2JZGE) - free
- clutch/flywheel/PP/TO/bellhousing/driveshaft - likely a $1200 swap
-Since this car is FULL FRAME, with bucket-type springs - air ride is likely going to happen - $3000 to piece something quality together
So yeah, I'll see if I can't get some up to date photos...
But the main reason I joined is for the air-ride segment of this forum, and I couldn't seem to find any specific VIP Canada forums...
I'm really looking forward to getting into this car, in terms of tweaking it. I've probably put 5000KM of seat time into it and love it, I mean it isn't real fancy inside, but people notice when they see a car they don't recognize (which helps make it seem less dated). I just think it needs those 4 little touches - LSD/5speed/air ride/wheels
