VA/DC/MD VIP inspired 96' W140 S-class . M119 V8 , Cammed, SSR vienna. LongWheelbase

For Sale:

*1996 Mercedes S420 (LONG WHEEL BASE like the S600)

Has around ~130K mi

Color:

*Rare color combo - Metallic Grey on Black (Original paint on the body) Bumpers and lower half painted to match the rest of the car

Interior:

*Black Leather / grey headliner

*Double pane glass

*Telescoping steering wheel

*BOSE / CD changer

*Power seats

*Power windows

*Auto closing doors

*Rear fold down mirrors

*Loaded

Engine :

*Very healthy chain driven M119 V8

Mods :

*Hagmann intake and exhaust camshafts. This car has more torque than the W140 S500's and S600's and will get up to 140mph without even trying.

*S600 Grill

*Secondary cat delete

Suspension :

*Custom springs / S600L suspension from Japan. My buddy Justin got it from a shop in Yokohama that specializes in older Benzs. Drives perfect and superb on turns. No bouncy feeling.
"Usually to get this low, people chop their springs (rides like poop with the W140 chasis) , bag, or air."

Transmission :

*Later model 722.6 Automatic Transmission . Fully serviced and shifts very well. Kick down switch works as well. Very reliable transmission unlike the ones from the 92-95 models.

Wheels :

SSR vienna Kries 19x10 / 19x11 . Redrilled to 5x112 "Wheels have seen better days, needs a weekend worth of polishing and elbow grease."

*NEW brake pads
*Recent oil change
*Radiator / Coolant flush 300miles ago
*Differential flush 300miles ago

Always serviced in MB Dealer most of its life. I can try to pull the records for you again. I have it somewhere.

Quick overview:

This car is great. If you ask anyone in the area, they'll tell you that they see this car car run/drive everywhere with no issues . AC/Heat works great and overall it is a solid car. This car has never been in any major accidents, no bodywork has been done to the car at all. It is all original. Only a minor parking lot rear bumper tap in the past . I've gotten offers before but i never cared about selling it. Im only selling it because I may be looking into building another project but I'm not pressed to see it go. If someone wants it , come get it. If not, I'll keep it. This W140 is hard to find in this condition and color. No check engine lights and is ready to roll.

$11,500

This is my 3rd W140. I wanted to start out with a very clean and reliable platform. The first W140 I had was a 94 S500 and my second one was a 95 S600. I loved them a lot but they always had problems. Doing a lot of research and wrenching through both of those cars, they had ETA (Throttle body issues), wiring through the whole car had to be redone because it would deteriorate and rot. The transmission would not engage sometimes and it was a headache. Sometimes the car wouldn't start, misfire, or just stall out randomly. This applied to both vehicles. Now you all know why OBDI S classes 92-95 are priced so low compared to all the OBDII S-classes. Save yourself a headache and get this or anything 96-99. You'll thanks me later.

Hate to see it go, I love this thing. I looked at your S600 back in the day when you were selling that and dreamed about it. Now you've got another, better one, and I just wish it was in the cards to get it for myself. GLWS
