VIP my next project - Jaguar XJ Limousine

Hello all,

My name is Rob and I'm from England.

I'm in the progress of buying a Daimler Limousine, the same as the one below, but this is just the press photo from 1999.

These are dirty cheap here, as they are ex funeral limos, i'm picking a minter up with 50'000 for £3000 in a few weeks.

The reason for picking one of these up and VIP'ing it is because I work for jaguar, love the cars and fancy a unique project to be complete for our short summer time in a few months.

I plan on airing it out, blacking out the windows and sitting it on the same alloys as the red jag (bottom). (any help on identifying them would be great).

Anyway, have fun with this one!

kinda cool, kinda weird lol. the rear roof line is a bit odd, but should be super interesting once done.

A bit unusual, a bit expensive, but alot of fun when done. It currently has a 3 seats at the back, 3 folding in the middle and 2 up front. I plan on making the middle bench fold flat and have it as a foot rest when not in use and the back 3 seats removed and replaced for a 2 seat set up with a VIP centre console, with fridge and gadgets, similar to the new XJ ultimate (below)

Great to hear so many positives so soon. I will start a project page as soon as I pick up the Jag. I am still keen to see a photoshop of how you guys would like to see it. I am also thinking of re spraying and chroming the same as the red XJ I posted in the first message.

It's the older body style, but what can I say... It's almost 'presidential'. I love the chop, thanks! Keep them coming though, throw in your own flavours, the more ideas I get the better.

Fancy some chopping? I'd lower the roof line and change the a and d pillars from the regular XJ... A bit more work, but would look so much better.
Food for thought :D

i think you might lose functionality of the rear windows if you did this... those windows look a lot bigger than the long wheel base xj windows. though i do agree it would look tons better with the roof line lowered

Lads, get some chops up, get some ideas flowing, lower the roofline if you want, I'm picking the car up soon, so I can get some real photos, the roof line doesn't look as high in real life, but lets see what you come up with.
