Comfort Coupe, a learning process

Always admired VIP cars but I grew up in the VW world and since hurricane sandy totaled my VW Rabbit, i took the opportunity to pick up a VW CC 3.6 VR6 4motion.

Having had my Rabbit bagged years ago, I decided to go strait to bags on the CC. So a few months later I was bit lower.

Front fender liners held me up a bit and needed a fender roll.
Jumped on these a bit too quick. Had them a year already and have yet to even earn a test fit. Forum image
Because these popped up and an impulse buy later, they where mine.

20x9 and 20x10 Rotiform MHGs in 5x114.3

Pre-airride test fit (above) showed promise but didn't sit as well as I'd hoped (after airride below).

So maxed out factory rear camber adjustment to -3.7 and got a lot closer but not perfect.

By now I wanted to have a lip kit installed since the body is super high but I'm far from done with the fitment. Considering selling the wheels, pulled fender, or maybe smaller lip on rear wheels.
I don't mind criticism.

Dropped off my babies with Ariel at Perfect Metal Finishes. Lips need a polish and machining a few millimeters off the rear pad. Asked for 3 mm, thinking about asking for another 2 mm. But worried if 5 mm will weaken the forged aluminum Forum image

Pulling the fender a bit will give you the needed clearance. You aren't far off

Just need to find a shop in my area that i trust. Not just for good work but not to rip me off. First reputable place quoted me 10+ hours of laber per side. So at least $1800. That seems like too much, no?

Sounds like they were going to do actual body work on the car with paint rather than roller work.

probably would be a good idea to post the details of the quote rather than just the cost.

I honestly would not have milled the wheels. Added camber, stretched tires, a roll or a pull would have worked better, if i were you that is.

But, your wheels, your car, just my 2cts.

I was running out of options. I am maxed out on stock camber adjustment at 3.7 drgrees and not looking to add more. Doesn't help there isn't a kit for 4motion cars either. And I already feel like 225/35/20 on a 20x10 is too much stretch so I wouldn't do more. Might try 245/30s.

I was looking at having actual metal work done because a fender roller wouldn't get these tucking. I'll give your boy a look since I my GF needs her fenders rolled. Mine are already done.

So the milling worked out flawlessly. Wheels stayed true and balanced perfectly (thank fu..ing gawd). Zero vibration even at ~100.
Best of all they tuck between lip n tire. It's snug but a little phone book fender pull should make it perfect.
