1jzgte gs400?

i have a question i couldn't solve with google and i hope some could shine the a light on it. i know the 2jz is by far the easiest swap for the gs400. i read that it was needed to have the vvti version to keep most of the functions such as ac and so on. what i have not seen yet is a vvti 1jzgte swap into a gs400, i was wonder does the  same go for the 1jz swap if i get the vvti version.
