what coils are you on? - you can do battle version lca mod thats gonna get you to - 6.5 degrees with out having to extend anything and if you want to take it further you can do PBM extended s14 inner tie rods with moog outers and you can notch the top hat. This is everything that i did on a y33 coil over to have negative camber in the range of - 6 to -8. but you could achieve that easily with the s13 swap - i'm just a advocate of a Y suspension

How many inches do people usually extended the lca's? Or does it just depend on how much camber is needed?

If you're on springs you have no adjustment of camber in the front.
Once you go on the coils they're come with front camber plates. To add a little more camber to those plates you can slot the plate, for more camber from there you need to put a heim joint on the subframe side of the lower control arm which will give you more adjustment.
Other option is S13/S14 suspension you can notch the knuckles and slot the plates and end up around -8ish.

You literally just cut the slots to be longer and allow the adjustment bolts to slide further into the strut tower.
Here's an example, the slots here.....
You just cut them wider on a mill or file/carbide bit. Whatever works for you! Can usually gain a good 2-3 degrees.
