quick realese

ok... so i know their are alot of drifters on this forum. i want to know what quick realese hub is the best and whats the pro's and con's with the others. i only want it for security. ive done some research but i want to hear from the people with exp with them. thanks.

All of my cars use Nardi classico with FET quick-release hubs. they are the thinnest and dont 'wobble' :)

u can see half of the Quick-release on the far right wheel...

All 'Pro'...I cant think of any reason not to use one.

Are two that are popular in my group.
They have more bearings inside that reduce wobble. Also a sturdier and easy to remove design. I also believe they are keyed to make sure your steering wheel is attatched upright at all times. The cheaper ones do not have keying which means you can attatch your steering wheel crooked if you dont remove the steering wheel when it is straight. I had a cheaper one for a while and it didn't wobble but randomly I would put it on and the steering would be off like 45 degrees.

Freaky thing: drive next to some random person and take your steering wheel off and wave at them. LMAO I always got the craziest looks.

Pros: Looks good easy replacement for old steering wheels. With a deeper dish wheel you can get more leg room if your tall. Makes getting in and out of the car easier. Good for theft prevention. (Not the end all be all but HELPS) FUn to watch people stare at you when you walk into a store holding your staring wheel.
Cons: You lose cruise control, some times your blinkers do not act right. (I don't know why) People think asking you "Where is the rest of your car?" is funny. :(

if you install it correctly you get your blinkers, you have to match up little knobvs nad dimples on the hub


pros: easier to get out, more leg room, wheel closer to you (i like it) better driving posture

cons: cost, adn well, thats about it

i have a Personal, nardi, momo with NRG locks on it. 
I liek the NRG, its not too bad for hte price.

I've got cruise control on the one of the cars still. There are hubs and horn buttons that allow you to retain that function. 

One thing I forgot to add is that the FET unit is about an inch think in total. ;)

I have never had a problem with blinkers but some of my friends have. Also your steering wheel will be further away from the winker switch i don't know how many times i try to flick the switch while driving and completely miss it.

I have never seen one with the cruise control still working, but maybe I just have cheapies, I know NRG and Sparco don't. Or is it wheel based?

i really like the fet one.... i had never seen it before this thread. when i get my wheel and quick release you have to school me driftgirl...i think you live by my friend.

FET is the ish but they currently are not selling any at the moment.  They are revamping the current quick release and updating it.  Im not sure when they will come out with the new one. (I got this info from my work, Island Motor Sports and called them) 

I I recomend either HKB Boss hub and FET quick release or get the stuff that NRG copied which is called Works Bell which is very good quality.  Everything NRG copied is from the Works Bell line up lol.

Fyi, you can get the NRG's on ebay for $100 shipped. Best price I could find.

The FETS are probably the thinnest ive seen. They cost a little bit more but I think its worth it.

there are other Hubs that have the CC buttons on the side. I think More-japan carried them as well.

i like the fet because its short. i camt get a short hub so a short quick realese sounds good to me.

No shit! I have the third one you have hanging up, in my SC. No quick release though. Im using a Splash Normal boss, from more-japan.

I actually like Works Bell's fit and finish. Looks great and feels sturdy.

Using a NRG here, no wobble or anything, but I lost my signal release, and it's a lot closer to me but that means I can gangster lean further back :P

man, I need to get a Nardi for my UCF10 but I can't find the right size!  aaarg!

I have the NRG first generation...with a momo wheel. It wobbled..

I heard that the 2.5 is better :)

anybody want to school me on what you need to know when buying steering wheel/hub/quick release? i'm gonna be switching out soon but i don't know a lot about it.
