97 Q45 P1110 code?

I dont have a CEL in my janky ass Q but I checked the codes the other day and it came up with this P1110 code. I know this has something to do with the variable valve timing system. The car recently had the motor replaced and runs great. The cam position sensor on the car is from the old motor and has approx. 234k miles on it. The cam sensor from the newer engine got broken and a new one cost big $$$. Are there any other less expensive remedies I can try? I was told changing my oil could help as the motor that was put in sat for a while and there could be some gunk in the VVT oil passages.

Sorry, I know this is super late. But I've started a thread on the P1135 which is the other side's sensor. I changed my oil and it still didn't work. What I did to pin point the exact problem was to swap the VVTC sensor from left to right and right to left and if the code comes on for the other side then it's the sensor. So if you swap yours then the P1135 code should turn on. My P1110 came on when I swapped mine, I was initially getting the P1135.
