My Car Timeline

Since all I do right now is sit around waiting for shit to happen I got a lot of free time on my hands. I was going through my Photobucket, and thought I'd share my little trip down memory lane. It all started back in '99 (I didn't own a car until I was 18)...

Zenki 240SX SE:

I don't have pictures of this one, but it was bright ass red. This was back in the day before the 240 was very popular. SR20 swaps were still in the figuring out stages. I knew I wanted an import, but something different than the standard Honda. Saw this baby on the CarMax lot and learned how to drive a stock on the way home. I rear ended somebody so the insurance paid for kouki front end. I through some 18" Konigs on it and thought I was stuntin'. Shortly after it got stolen and totaled.

1998 Nissan Maxima GLE:

It was a while before I got another car (I've gone through several extended periods of time with no car in my life). I stumbled on this one and instantly fell in love. It was one of two cars where I really felt blessed when I got it. Leather with the woodgrain. This is where the screen name BLACKonBLACK98/BLKonBLK98 came from. Around this time I went to UTI for paint and body. I tore the car up and eventually put it in storage for a few years. We'll come back to this one...

1995 Chevy Caprice:

I Bought this beast while I was in UTI. I had kind of moved on from imports and was into the truck/early dub scene. Everyone I knew was all about bagging trucks, but I wanted a car. I also didn't want a pure mini-truck style build. I liked the luxury aspect of the dub scene, before it got watered down. The first day I got it I ripped out the police interior, which proved to be a mistake (replacement parts weren't available back then like they are now). The details are fuzzy but somehow I turned an insurance check from the Maxima into a spot at a nearby shop to work on my cars. I shaved the car down, primed it, slammed it (not pictured), limo tinted all the way around, and rode dirty 24/7. Eventually it got towed out of my apartments and I didn't care enough to go get it. I still plan on owning a '96 Implala SS one day, which is the same chassis.

1998 Nissan Maxima GLE (Pt. 2):

So after the Caprice I was super depressed for a long time (not because of the car). I sat around the house on the internet all day and eventually, after a couple years, my interest in cars peaked once again. I ended up trying to build a business based on Maxima parts. While figuring out what I wanted to do as far as a demo build I stumbled on VIP style and VSC. Back then there was no love for non-platform cars, and the byproduct of the hate I received was I had something to prove. I jumped in head first. UAS over JIC, radiused and tubbed, JDM front end conversion, retrofitted headlights, LED tails, red interior, high end audio/carPC, FWD VQ30DET, etc. In the end I wasted a shit load of money (like $35K IIRC) and this happened:

Forum image

The car was being built on Galveston island when Ike hit. It went under like 8 feet of water. I salvaged what I could and scrapped the rest. By this time my heart had already moved on to the almighty...

Forum image

1990 Infiniti Q45:

The G50! My original reasoning for buying a zenki was I wanted a President conversion. I bought a cheap Q for like $800-900 and dropped it off to have it restored to pristine mechanical condition. I dumped ~$7K into the stock motor (parts and labor).

Forum image

Had it not been for the amount of money I spent on the engine this car would have probably been gone a long time ago. Anyways, I quickly fell for the grill-less front end which veered my interest to more period correct styling for a minute. I slammed it on JIC and was really one of the first VSC cats to fuck with adjustable suspension arms (full SPL). I also copped some BBS RS style Impul R1 17s because they were on the Impul G50 ad from back in the day. I wish I would have copped the set of N.O.S. Silhouettes that were available at the time instead, but oh well. Eventually the tranny went out and it has sat ever since. Although I did eventually get my President conversion.

As well as a set of JDM Carlsson 1/12s. I don't really think about when I'll do something with this car anymore, I just know that someday it will happen and when it does it will be serious.

1992 LS400:

This car was bought as basic transportation while I worked on the Q, but I had to mod it a little. I copped a first gen LS because I had a first gen Q and I wanted them to match. Like I said, I was really into older '90s styling at the time. In fact, that's where the OG/Original Garage name came from. Anyways... coilovers, wheels, and some touches here and there. That's all it took to make this car awesome. Eventually the starter went out and I mistakenly turned it into a huge project that never got finished. I regret now not just taking it to a mechanic and having it repaired. I recently scrapped the body.

Forum image

2004 Altima 3.5SE:

This was my mom's car, but when she bought a G37S I took it over for a minute. It was lowered on 19" Nismo Rays with a couple other things done here and there. Eventually it was returned to stock and sold.

Forum image

2009 Nissan Titan SE:

This is the only vehicle that I ever copped brand new. I bought it thinking that I was gonna be a great success and needed it for the shop. I still miss the functionality, bitches just miss the truck. I dunno why they liked it so much. Bed liner and colormatched wheels is as far as it went before I hydroplaned it into a wall going 60 and totaled it.

Forum image

1998 (?) Lexus LS400:

Along the way I acquired this post-MC UCF20 (basically a shell), once owned by member Jeebus. Never really got to do anything with it, but I hope to change that soon.

Forum image

1995 Infiniti Q45:

I had enough parts to throw a car together so, after totaling the Titan, I grabbed another G50. I put it together in a week's time and was happy with it as a daily. Unfortunately, I just couldn't afford to drive an old G50 any more. Shit kept breaking, like every couple days it seemed, and it was just too expensive to maintain. I recently returned it to stock and sold it.

2008 Cadillac STS-V:

One of 459 built (32 exported). I was looking for reliable transportation, in lieu of spending a bunch of money fixing the Q constantly. This is the second car that I felt that I did not deserve when I drove home with it. It was on the secondary lot of a huge internet used car dealership, and not really 100%, but I knew it was the one as soon as I sat in it. Unfortunately it's cursed. Or I am. Whatever. Hit and run within 2 weeks. Repaired. Hit again within another 2 weeks. I let this dude make it when he hit me in a bar parking lot. I had his contact info, but a stripper stole my iPhone that night. Not repaired. Hit again in the stupid ass hospital parking garage. Jumped a curb Tokyo drifting. So now she sits and waits for me to fix her. Soon I hope.

That's it for now. Hope you enjoyed.
