215/35/19 vs 225/35/19

currently i have 225/35/19 falken st-115's on a 19x9 rim.  as everybody knows the ST-115's are discontinued.  So my alternative is 215/35/19 FK452'S, to have the same type of stretch on the tire.

my concern is daily driving with the 215 vs the 225.  i live in L.A. where potholes love to appear "out of nowhere" and am a bit scared for my wheels.

???go for the 215/35/19 fk452's???

wow this stretching thing is kinda getting out of control.

if you have the space in the wheel wells, then I'd suggest to go with the standard 235 35 or 245 35.

235 35 and 245 35 look good as it is. 

a properly dropped car with 215 35 or 245 35 will make no difference. It will both look good! =)

im not talking about looks, i'm talking about protection and ride quality.  sorry if i made it seem like it was only a cosmetic thing.

You should use the widest tire possible that will fit between your fender and wheel.

the difference between the 215 and 225, is very minimal. If I were you though, I would go for a 225.

st115's stretch a lot more than other tires of the
same size and profile. lets say u ran st115's.
and now u got toyo.. or kumho's.. SAME size.. if your wheel
are flush and might rub, it will FOR SURE rub with NON st115's.

the fk452's measured almost 3/4" wide thread than the st115's.
i just encountered this madness as i was debating tire sizes.

a 245/35 in st115 looked more like a 225/35..
but a 245/35 in the new 452's don't stretch 
as much as the st115.
honestly, the st115's look almost 1-2 sizes smaller in width.

but u're running thin tires as it is, so i dunno. i just wanted
u to know whats up so u dont get the wrong size for yoru car.
