jdotlim 2004 LS430 Build, Simple

Hey Guys,

I finally got one of my dream cars. I've always wanted to get into the VIP scene, always had a place in my heart for them. I came from owning a 2005 Honda S2000, which I loved. But sold due to it being small and not practical. I have a bulldog, and he does not fit in the front seat anymore. Anyways on to my fully stock 2004 LS430 Modern Luxury Package. I am not going to go super crazy with this build, at least that is what i say now. I bought this car at 94K, and none of the maintenance was done. Not even a week, I did the water pump, timing belt, thermostat, and coolant flush. I am going to change the rear diff, and tranny fluid next. Along with PS fluid and brake fluid.

Follow me on IG @jdotlim, I have not posted any photos of the build yet, but will soon!

Future Mods:
Airlift Performance Struts
Airlift V2 Management with Hardlines
Version Select Lip Kit
Not sure what wheels I want yet.

Welcome. Clean ride. I also considering airlift or airrex, leaning towards airrex for my 2nd, newly acquired, 2005 ls430 with 84k. First ls430 got stolen. Have you given any consideration to airrex?

i have... but since i have a history using Airlift on my MK4 GTI, I've never had a problem. And the price is a lot cheaper going Airlift. And i like the V2 management. I've asked many LS430 owners that are on Airlift, and never had anything negative to say. So my money is on airlift.

i had airlift on my VW GTI before and never had a problem with it. Airlift has been around for years and I know their products will hold up very well. They use to be all EURO cars, but is slowly making it to the JDM scene.

It was $3,100 shipped, I bought extra fittings and a second compressor. I had one compressor before and it took too long to air the tank. It also failed on me too, so I recommend a second compressor.

i love it. it went lower than expected. i left the dampening setting in the middle, out of the box. and it rides almost like stock. i ride with about 60PSI in the bags, i havent rolled my fenders yet. so i cant go lower. I know once i get wheels and everything, i might have to stiff it up a little to not rub. but other than that, i dont regret getting these at all. thanks again for the help haha

I never thought about changing colors haha, now you have me thinking.

Test fitted some Auto Couture Magnifique. Fronts don't clear BBK, and rears sit on the tire. Not sure if I wanna keep these. Gotta add spacers in front.

i was thinking about changing the tire size, but these tires have so much meat, it might be a waste, plus i didn't want too much of a stretch. i will probably run a 10mm in the front to clear the brakes, and let the rears sit on tire for now. Then camber the rears and front, when i get arms.

Went to an office building around the corner from my place and took some shots before i got kicked out. These were shot on a Nikon D7000, but edited on my phone, which made the quality go down. I will have to edit it on my computer later.

i took the wheels off, it was too much camber for me to be honest. If I didn't daily the car, i probably would have kept it. Now i am trying to sell it and get something less aggressive. i am in the works of getting a lip kit for it. Just not sure which one i want yet.

Good call on moving on from those wheels. Would have been a good look with an aggressive kit that had wider bumpers, but on stock body the camber looked poverty. Common mistake in American builds. Looking forward to the progress though, I always like seeing F30s come together.

A little update, I've been MIA for awhile since my new wheels were in the shop getting refinished. I sold my aggressive Auto Couture Magnifique, and bought these weak Auto Couture Lative. I daily this thing, and running too much camber scares me after ripping two tires. Especially since I carry my dog, and my GF on the weekends. So now i am running about -1.5-2 all around, and running a little meatier tire. I love the new set up. I also got new mufflers, quad tips. Pictures will be coming up soon for those.
